19 Apr 2026, 05:25I am extremely disappointed with the service I received from Mosaic Funeral Group during one of the most difficult periods of my life. After the passing of my mother on 21 February 2026, I expected professionalism, compassion and efficiency. Instead, I was met with confusion, misinformation and a complete lack of empathy. Despite my mother’s policy being active, fully paid and long past the waiting period, MFG refused to honour the claim, citing “poor payment” a claim that was completely untrue and not supported by the records or proof of payment I provided. What made the situation worse was the conduct at the Germiston branch, where the claim assessor was disorganised, could not account for missing receipts, and gave conflicting explanations, including an ******** claim that the waiting period had “restarted”.
This caused unnecessary stress and distress at a time when I was grieving. To add insult to injury, after initially rejecting the claim outright, MFG later attempted to pressure me into paying cash for services that were clearly included in the policy, presenting this as “meeting me halfway”.
I felt coerced and exploited while emotionally vulnerable, and I was forced to pay out of pocket just to lay my mother to rest. No family should be treated this way by a funeral service provider. This experience reflects poor customer service, weak record‑keeping, and a worrying lack of care for clients during bereavement. Based on this experience, I would not recommend Mosaic Funeral Group, and I believe this company deserves a very poor rating for its handling of legitimate claims and its treatment of grieving families.
