Lonja Beauty Salon
Based on recent customer reviews, Lonja Beauty Salon is drawing significant frustration from clients across its branches. A recurring theme is that appointments are not honoured, with customers consistently mentioning long waits stretching into hours despite pre-booking. Many describe staff as rude, dismissive, and unprofessional, and several raise concerns about rough handling during nail and pedicure services, lifting acrylics, and inconsistent pricing. A small number of clients highlight competitive pricing and skilled individual nail technicians, but these positives are largely overshadowed by service quality and management complaints.

DO NOT GO THERE! I wish it was possible to give them no stars at all. I made an appointment the day before ,for 3pm 02/04/2026 to do acrylic hands and gel toes . I arrived on time. I was told to sit.No communication at all. 30 minutes later of me not being attended to . I have to get up and ask what’s going on. I made an appointment why am I waiting. The lady with glasses at the reception desk proceeded to tell me that all the people waiting made appointments. So I asked again what is the point of allowing me to make an appointment if I am treated as a walk in and I still have to wait. At this establishment, making an appointment is just to “reserve your space in the queue”. Was her answer. Mind you there were over 5 people when I arrived waiting Doing your maintenance is supposed to be a calming and pleasant experience. Do not go to lonja you will definitely not receive that at all. Don’t book an appointment, there’s no point. Their specials may save you money , however you will pay with your time and comfort. This is the third time this has happened to me at this branch. I will not be going there ever again. I made an appointment BECAUSE I CLEARLY NEEDED THEM DONE AT THE TIME. They have absolutely ruined my day. What a horrible experience. I immediately left after waiting nearly 45 minutes after the time of my appointment. The quality of work they provide is really not worth your time anyway. Extremely dissapointing. You would think after so many bad reviews they’d fix their ways. TRULY THE WORST SALON IVE EVER BEEN Too in my life.

My experience at Lonja Beauty Salon in Fourways has been horrible, the staff are highly unprofessional. I booked over the phone only to arrive to a long line even after I had asked if there were slots available for today. The staff speak badly about the customers in their presence. It almost feels as though you are in their mercy to do your hair with them , very very unprofessional team.

Very disappointing experience at Lonja I went yesterday after calling at 9:00 in the morning to ask if they were busy and whether I should book for the next day. The lady told me she could book me in for 13:30 the same day. I arrived exactly at 13:30, not late at all. There were many people, so I asked the receptionist how long the wait would be. She said 30 minutes maximum, which was acceptable. After 30 minutes, I went back to ask again and was then told that there were still many people from 12:00 waiting. Sorry, what? If that was the case, why accept bookings at all? We ended up waiting 2 hours, and still nothing. Then she suggested we come back the next day at 08:00. No respect for our time, no value given to the booking that was made. The service was almost nonexistent, which probably explains why the prices are low. On top of that, the way my sister was treated was beyond rude. I clearly explained that she needed back support for personal reasons, and they simply did not care. And because they didn’t give a damn about us, why should we give up our seats to someone else? We are all equal paying clients. If you want to waste your time, go there. If you value yourself and your time, run away from this nonsense.

After trying to book an appointment yesterday i was informed i can walk in. It's not like they have kept to appointments anyways i went into your salon today 03/01/2026 the service was ********** no hairdresser wanted to touch my hair, i was asked to sit outside in the scorching sun only after it started raining was i moved inside. The whole appointment took almost 5 hours just for undo and wiglines, also wanted a gel soak off which i announced upon my arrival all the services i needed for today but only to leave the salon with one nail filed of as per attached pic. The price i was quoted was not the price i was charged the manager Thando said it was a mistake did not offer an explanation or apology i had different people touch my hair it was just chaotic. To think it is not the first time i have gone to this place its been 3 years going and it keeps getting worse today was the last straw what a shame. I must give an applause to Asaze she was exceptional she tried to accommodate and kept apologising but the damage had been done. I will Not be going back nor recommending this salon to anyone. They can take this as constructive criticism or whatever

Where do I begin?... My first time experience was terrible where my fingers were roughed up to a point where I was bleeding, my cuticles were hurting for almost two weeks. Second experience when soaking off the gel on my toes same thing happened, my poor toes got roughed up and one of the technicians who was doing my toes notified me that I was bleeding. While doing pedicure I could see she is not covering the entire nail when applying the gel nail polish and I told her about it, and I ended up thinking maybe I was tripping only to see when I got home no man I was right she didn't get the entire nails on some toes. Then to top it all the acrylic nails are lifting after a week. I went to the salon on Saturday(because I work during the week, plus it's the day I noticed that they were lifting) to get them fixed. The nail technician app**** gel base but they were still lifting. She tried filing them too, but they were still lifting. After that they tell me I have to pay for fixing because of a 7 days fixing policy and that I came on the 8th day. That the color I had on is not even available anymore. 🙄 Does it make sense and is it fair for me to pay a week later for something that is supposed to last 3 to 4 weeks without lifting? To me it clearly says the quality of products/work was poor and why should I have to pay twice because of poor quality products/work? I don't even know why I went the second time after that unpleasant first experience. Oh and appointments are just a formality they mean nothing. Once bitten, twice shy! I'm thanks, Lonja Beauty Randburg!
