The waiter together with other staff treated my family and I like ********s at the Mothers Day Lunch on 10th May 2026. We were seated at Table number 28 and we were the only family they did this to. They stopped my family and I at the hotel foyer asking to double check our payment around 15:05. The CCTV cameras would also show this. However, since it was Mothers Day, full prepayment had to be made in advance of Mothers Day. The waiter embarrassed us and made us look like ********s in front of other hotel guests in the foyer by running after us like we had not paid. I did raise this complaint telephonically with a person named Dumasani on the night of Mothers Day as he claimed to be the manager of the restaurant but to date no action has been taken to rectify the situation. Also, a private review was posted about what had happened but still it has been ignored by the restaurant and the hotel. This was disgusting and pathetic customer service. Please assist urgently.

My Boyfriend And I Went On A Date To Celebrate His Birthday At Lingela Restaurant. From the minute we stepped in we was treated like royalty. The buffet set up was amazing we have eaten here like 3 times already and the buffet keeps getting better and better. Our favorite is the mini steaks and peri peri prawns. The desserts are too die for such a wide spread. The fee we pay also includes bottomless cooldrink. Its very well worth it. I booked it in advance as this place is always fully booked. They also bring a piece cake and they wish you a happy birthday such a sweet and thoughtful gesture to make someone feel special😍 #HelloPeterDreamDate

It is an amazing buffet and treat for the family aside from the rude middle class families that shove you just to get in front of you. The food is high quality as well, but I wish that the deserts were less pudding and more cakes and soft cookies rather. It is still the best buffet in KZN, however. If I had to choose one thing to change, it would be the godd*mn opening time. 19:00?! No, nuh-uh. You need to start at 16:00 for those of us who do not want to go to bed right after eating a MF-ing buffet. What is this? Who in their right mind PREFERS to eat a buffet past 18:00 -- the time when most doctors and dieticians such as myself would recommend that you DO NOT have anything to eat so as to prevent obesity. I am shaking my head at these people. This place is run by the Sun International which have casinos, so I doubt that this review will reach anyone important, but I hope that they change this detail.

To call Lingela a fast food restaurant is like calling McDonald's a place for dining in with colleagues. This is a very nice, very well-maintained buffet with a wide variety of foods. Each food is amazing, and they even prepare some of the food in front of you. It is a bit expensive at R400, but it is so worth it with some of the things they have to offer. This has to be the best buffet I have been to so far in this country. It is most certainly the best in KZN, and the price is just high enough that it keep out undesirable audiences. Nothing against people who cannot afford it, but there are not a lot of big and loud families, disruptive children, or parties of people during the week. Be careful because on the weekend you do get some of those more uncultured crowds. On my last trip, I found myself being pushed and shoved by people. The only wait to assert yourself is to push and shove those rude, touchy swines to the side (mostly arrogant upper middle class women). Overall, it is a wonerful place for a formal yet messy meal. I would recommend going with someone who you do not mind seeing you ***out.
