Based on recent customer reviews, Liberty Group South Africa is struggling across nearly every customer experience dimension. Customers consistently describe excessive delays on claims and withdrawals, unanswered emails, dropped calls, and repeated requests for documents already submitted. Pricing transparency draws sharp criticism from long-tenured pensioners, and agent quality is widely viewed as inconsistent. A small number of named consultants receive genuine praise, but these are isolated bright spots in a deeply negative landscape.

The most common complaint about Liberty Group South Africa, based on Hellopeter's AI analysis of recent customer reviews, is Claims Handling & Resolution. Claims Handling (1.0) is the most damaging theme. Customers describe months and even years of delays on life, disability, provident fund, and two-pot claims. Repeated document resubmissions, shifting requirements, and silence from assessors dominate. Many escalate to the Ombudsman or FSCA before resolution.

Just a blame-game Group between their own Liberty individual and Liberty Corporate! Not even Elroy could solve this simple transaction, to move MY funds from Liberty Corporate to MY Liberty RA knowing from my first interaction, that MY RA shows as paid-up. Now all of a sudden, the funds can’t be transferred into a paid-up RA. No alternative option or recommendation. Just a .l. you! I will be moving all funds to Coronation. Letter of Intent and Section 14 incoming! Thank you for nothing! Too many reference numbers to even add in the space provided CAS-65257-L4Z9 141372506 141410850 1086834 141372506

I am so frustrated with Liberty group, I joined the funeral policy in July for my grandmother, and the policy was supposed to start in September, but my grandmother passed away in July, so I called the financial advisor Sizwe Kili to cancel it and create a new one for my uncle and Aunt. I noticed that no money was being deducted, I called Sizwe Kili and he said they will start deducting in December, they did but they were deducting twice, from December until March(5 MONTHS). I called them and they said the policies were cancelled in October 2025! and they said they can only see 3 months payments and not 5, and I asked for a refund for 5months, and I attached my pay slip showing the 3 months, but They refunded me for 3 months even though I showed them proof, I have been following up about the other 3 months with no vail. Today when I checked my pay slip, my money is deducted again twice. How do you cancel a policy in October and start deducting money nonstop??. I am so frustrated, I want this to be escalated, you guys are ******.!!

Not very competent when you leave a company and you need your provident payout. Endless paperwork online system is not user friendly. They hold funds based on what’s going on with the company you resigned from. Should not fall on the client. Issues between them and the company should not involve the third person. Will never take any policy out with Liberty……ever.

I am deeply disappointed and frustrated with the abysmal service and lack of urgency from Liberty Corporate regarding my Two-Pot retirement system withdrawal request. It took Liberty a staggering 16 days just to communicate that my request could not be processed because the "annual income" field was not completed. In a digital age where automated system validations should flag missing information instantly, or where a customer service agent should review and flag errors within 24 to 48 hours, waiting over two weeks just to be told a form is incomplete is utterly ridiculous. These funds are meant to be accessible for urgent needs, but Liberty’s administrative delays and poor communication turn a straightforward process into a bureaucratic nightmare. I expect Liberty Corporate to: Immediately fast-track my corrected application without putting me at the back of a 16-day queue. Provide an immediate update on exactly when the funds will be paid out. Explain why their system takes over two weeks just to notify a client of a missing field

Poor service is the norm for Liberty Life. I have sent several email follow-ups on the instruction submitted to them and they just don't respond. I have sent an escalation to their complaints dept. ([email protected]) - no response. I have also lodged a formal complaint to their complaints dept. ([email protected]) - no response. Very very bad service

i wanted to open a tax free savings account so i asked my financial advisor from liberty group to advice on how and where. She told me abut INN8 and recommended that i open my TFS with INN8. We started the process and she then sent me banking details for me to make payment into the INN8 account. I made a payment of R47000 into that account on 8 April 2026. On Monday 3rd of May i had an emergency and asked my financial advisor from liberty how i can withdraw the money. She adviced that she would put in a withdrawal for me and informed me that the money would reflect in my bank account within 5 to working 7 days. On 7 May (5 days later) i asked her which bank account the money would reflect as i had not provided them with banking details. She told me she had just been in communication with INN8 and the next step in the process was for me to send them my banking details. I then provided her with my banking details. On Monday 11 May i asked my financial advisor for an update at 10 in the morning. She did not call or get back to me so i called INN8 and was told that my funds had not been allocated, the lady said she can see all y documents but the funds had not been allocated. I sent my financial advisor a message after getting off the call and told her what i had been told. she then escalated the matter to her manager as she indicated that she had tried to get of INN8 for weeks with no luck. On Tuesday 12 May i was told that they are looking into the matter and later on was told that my funds were now reflecting and was told about a lengthy process that would mean an additional 5 days. I sent an email to my financial advisor requesting that this matter be treated with urgency as i had already waited more than 7 days. I further requested that they send back my money even if it meant that i forfeit the interest. I requested that since i had made a notice for withdrawal on the 3rd of May, can i please get my money back latest Friday 15 May. Today is the 19 of May (12 working days later) and i have not received my money back, nor has anyone bothered to update me on what is happening, no one from INN8 or Liberty Group sees it necessary to let me know what is happening with my money. I am beyond irritated, i regret opening that tax free saving with INN8 and i regret taking advice from my financial advisor from Liberty because right now it just looks like im on my own. Disgusted

My company terminated my Liberty membership one month before my termination date. The deductions for the provident fund were still made at the end of Feb 2026, but now the Liberty fund manager is not responding to me. I will give full name and details when another representative contacts me
