Disappointing Response From I&J After Poor Quality Fish Fingers

I purchased a box of I&J fish fingers from Checkers on 01 May and stored them immediately in my deep freezer after getting home (I live 10 minutes from the store). When I finally used them on 13 May, they had an extremely strong fishy/dry fish smell that filled the entire house while cooking. The smell and taste were clearly not normal and the smell lingered in the house for days after I literally have to have all the curtains washed!

I contacted I&J to report the issue because I genuinely believed there may have been a problem with the batch. Instead of showing concern, I was told that the product “did not leave them in that condition” and that I should take the product back to the store for a refund.

I find this response disappointing and unrealistic. The product was purchased almost two weeks ago, the box is already half used, and now I am expected to go back to the store days later to try get my money back over a quality issue I already reported directly to the manufacturer.

As a customer, I stored the product correctly and raised the issue in good faith. I expected better customer service and accountability from a well-known brand. They should bave picked up the remainder of the box for testing atleast not just assume it was an issue at store level. Unfortunately, after this experience, I will not be purchasing I&J products again mind you I grew up on them.
