I resided at Homii London in Marshalltown for nearly a year, and it was a catalog of management failures and health violations from day one. I am writing this to warn any self-respecting individual especially those with children to stay away. 1. Administrative Incompetence & Move-in Disasters My experience began with a "system error" where the apartment I had viewed and paid for was given to someone else. I was forced into a significantly smaller unit that could not fit my belongings. To make matters worse, I was welcomed by a literal infestation of hundreds of ****roaches. The sheer volume was so high that the entire floor smelled of them, a clear sign of long-term neglect. 2. Dehumanising Living Conditions (Utilities & Safety) While Johannesburg faces power challenges, this building is uniquely ill-equipped. During outages that lasted for weeks: • No Water: Without electricity, the pumps failed. We were left without the ability to shower or flush toilets, leading to a building-wide stench that was absolutely dehumanizing. • Security Risk: Management made zero provision for backup power in common areas. During outages, security systems failed, allowing unauthorized access to the building 24/7. • Broken Infrastructure: The lifts are archaic and frequently out of order. During my move-out week, I was forced to carry my belongings down the stairs in total darkness because of a three-day outage. 3. Theft and "Cleaning Mistakes" My move-out process was the final straw. Although the official checkout is on the 1st of the month before 12:00 PM, I arrived on the 29th to find that management had cleared my unit. My belongings were thrown into dustbins, a brand-new dress was missing, and over R1,000 worth of non-perishable food was taken by staff. Management dismissed this as a "cleaning staff mistake," offering no accountability for the theft of my property. 4. Predatory and Hypocritical Policies Management expects total "understanding" from tenants regarding water and power failures, yet they extend zero grace in return. If rent is paid even two hours late on the 1st, they summarily disconnect your electricity. On one occasion, I paid at 2:00 PM while out of town; I returned five days later to a rotten fridge because they refused to reconnect the power promptly. The management at Homii London has shown a blatant disregard for human life and basic safety. Even after tenants unionized to send formal complaints to corporate during a two-week outage, nothing changed. They prioritize indemnity over responsibility. Save your money, your health, and your dignity, look elsewhere.

Homii London in Marshal Town is a mess. There's ****roaches in the building. Their key cards work two days, then you will suffer to open your door. I am really disappointed. Some of the stuff members are rude, 0% customer services especially by the reception.

If there was a way to share 0 stars, I would. Homii in Durban is a horrible place. I booked a room and was told that they were still preparing it, and then I was told the room wasn’t prepared, so I should take a different one. When I arrived at the building, the elevator wasn’t working and I was placed on the 10th floor. In fact, there was someone stuck in the lift for over an hour; this person also mentioned that she was asthmatic. I had to immediately book myself a hotel, as I could not carry suitcases from the ground floor to the 10th floor. I have been requesting my refund, and Zandile Msomi who was assisting me with the refund yesterday said I would be refunded immediately and asked for my proof of account. I sent it, but until now she hasn’t acknowledged receipt of my email. I have been trying to call the office, but it goes straight to voicemail.

Whilst looking for rental property in Durban Westville, I came across this side "https://homii.co.za/buildings/the-watt-club/98dda761-9b7e-466d-a339-9d40e42a5cbf" The Watt Club 102 Joe Slovo Street, Durban Central, Durban The pictures of their rental properties , the furnished apartments they are listing... Its NONE of that. at all. Their buildings is nothing close to whats being advertised, the whole set up, furniture, cleanliness..., their mattresses are even broken with droppings, stains etc etc every where. Its nothing close to what they advertised. They are misleading, false advertising their rental rooms . They are even on property 24 with such lies and dirt.
