This company are ****mers. They sold us batteries with a 3 year warranty and when we send in faulty batteries they say it was sold with a 2 year warranty. I have proved to them that they sold it to us with 3 years and now they just do not communicate back. *****!

On 5 January, I reported to GC Solar that my Pylontech UP5000 battery suddenly discharged 50% of its stored energy at 05:20 in the morning without any load connected to the system. After I followed up, GC Solar instructed me to deliver the battery to their Midrand office for inspection, which I did on 9 January. On 14 January, I was informed that the battery had been found to be faulty and would be replaced under warranty. At that stage, I was told replacement stock was not available. At the end of January, I was informed that stock would arrive and that I would be first in line to receive my replacement battery. However, after contacting the Midrand office again, I was told that stock will now only be available at the end of February. I have now been without my battery for more than a month and a half. Customers invest in backup systems for reliability and peace of mind, especially in South Africa where power stability is a major concern. This level of after-sales service is unacceptable. At this stage, I cannot recommend purchasing a Pylontech battery - they don't have stock. Trust is critical when investing in backup power. Customers should not have to question whether they must rely on Eskom or on their own system — especially when that system depends on proper after-sales / warranty support.

On the 15/01/2025 I bought an item from GC Solar, received item in good condition but I some how misplaced my Tax invoice. On 05/02/2026 I contacted G C Solar and asked them if they could help me to get a copy of invoice, I only had my old email address and serial number to help G C Solar find invoice from the system that has since been changed. I give a 5 star rating to Claudia Borcea for making the effort to find my invoice and in no time Claudia phoned me to say she got it and sent of to me by mail. I thank G C Solar and specifically Claudia for helping me to obtain invoice. Good work and customer care

Do not make use of this company. They installed a solar system in my house in Marloth park more than a year ago. It has been sending power back into the grid resulting in tripping the prepaid meter. I have spoken to many technicians including Romarno about this issue. Unanswered whatsapps and phonecalls. They have made false promises and is incapable of.solving problems with their own systems. I would not recommend dealing with them at all.

Sent my batteries in for repairs. Waited 5 weeks. On the 10th of January 2025, I booked my batteries in for repairs. After 1 week, I phoned them to find out what was going on. I was told that the technician that "worked" on my battery wasn't in and that they would call me back. They didn't call me back. I called the next day, only to be told that the contact person "Just came out of a meeting" and she will go and find out. Waited another 2 to 3 hours and called her back again. I was then told that they were still waiting for the report from China. After another week, I called only to be told that the contact person was in a meeting and would call me back, which she didn't. I called and was told that they were still waiting for China. By week 4, I was told that they delay is because of Chinese new year, even though my batteries had been with them from the 10 of January. By week 5 I finally got told that the warranty won't cover the costs, because "there were short circuits on the battery". Now as an end consumer how would you disprove this, you can't really. I was told to pay quite a hefty amount to replace the BMS on both batteries, paid it and eventually got the batteries back after 5 weeks. They constantly blame shift, are always in meetings and everyone else is to blame for their bad services. The major problem was that this is the sole importer of the Pylontech batteries, and they are giving Pylontech a bad reputation.

Worst services received from GJ over the phone doesn't have any communication skills. He doesn't give messages to sales staff as per our request. He dispatched wrong stock and I had to drive back from site as he doesn't know the products he is selling costing me extra to fix his mistakes. He is extremely rude and arrogant.

Dear GC Solar, I am writing to express my extreme disappointment with the conduct of your employee, Tswane. Their behavior towards me has been consistently rude, disrespectful, and unprofessional. Their lack of empathy and customer service skills has made this entire experience incredibly frustrating. In stark contrast, I would like to commend Romano Johnson, Head of Department, for their exceptional assistance and prompt action in resolving the issues I encountered. Their professionalism, understanding, and dedication to customer satisfaction were truly commendable. Romano's positive attitude and efficient problem-solving skills have significantly improved my overall experience with GC Solar. I believe that employees like Romano should be recognized and rewarded for their outstanding work. Moving forward, I will only engage with Romano for any future interactions with GC Solar. I urge you to take immediate action to address the behavior of Tswane. Such conduct is unacceptable and detrimental to your company's reputation. I look forward to a prompt and satisfactory resolution to this matter. Sincerely, Anne
