WOW! the caps intentional. The food was phenomenal and our wiatron, Mike, made it an extra memorable experience. The chocolate fondant was to die of and to kill for. The only negative for me was that there could've been more steak options. There for instance was just one Fillet Steak to be had.

ONE SLICE OF TOAST I took a friend to breakfast to the Damhuis. Normally with two eggs you have 2 slices of toast..but alas you have to pay R20 (TWENTY Rand) for a second slice. I offered to go to the Spar around the corner for a loaf or exchange my fried tomato for an extra slice. They remained firm and adamant - we remain never to darken their doors again.

Tonight a group of friends and I visited the iconic Damhuis. I, after eating a delicious pasta, and half my desert, was accosted verbally by an extremely aggressive and intimidating staff member called Moses! Me being an English white lady of slender build, felt utterly enraged. He continued ranting and raving loudly and aggressively, questioning why I had not finished my creme brulee, due to being full. I am utterly disgusted at the manner in which I was spoken to, it was absolute verbal abuse. He also stated verbally attacking other friends at my table which are younger than me. I stood up and asked him to leave us alone. He persisted with his aggressive tone, even stepping towards me. At this point I put my hand on his back asking him to leave our table, he refused and continued his attack. I am horrified! I expect him to be fired! He does not deserve to work at such a high end establishment. Maybe he should consider becoming a bouncer at a better suited low grade venue.

Poor customer care with an non inclusive menu . Poor menu options that aren’t open minded to those with eating disorders and sensitive stomach issues as well as poor coffee quality.

We went to Die Damhuis restaurant for the first time yesterday. We had already checked their menue out a few weeks in the making. Upon arriving the ambiance was relaxing , jovial and very welcoming. We were seated at a table of our choosing and we ordered two milk shakes, chocolate not so good but my strawberry. Was nice. We ordered a burger and me always fish and chips when we close to the ocean. They claim that their crispy hake fillet is deep fried in a Vodka batter . It was disgustingly soft and oily. The waitress never not once came to our table and asked us if the meal was okay. She came over once we requested the bill. The manager said that he was sorry and that's it . All Foreigners sad again and a dam shame on the owners hiring all of the same kind . I have never in my life eaten a deep fried hake fillet that was so disgusting. That is for people that has no teeth. The fish was bland with no taste to it . Their condiments was nice but salad was horrible . To the owner I strongly suggest you taste some of your food or maybe I will pick you up ant take you to a few places that sells fish and chips. Better Still I will show how to prepare a crispy vodka batter . Good God my fish is a 5 star compare to yours . Start tasting your food and you might have many more customers coming back . You are the only nice restaurant in the neighbourhood . Crunchy and cripsy not full of soft dough .
