Yesterday I booked a ticket with Delta Coaches for my little brother to travel from Cape Town to Johannesburg after already being let down by another bus company.
The bus was scheduled to leave Cape Town at 4:10 PM. My brother arrived at the station early and had been waiting there since 2 PM. At 4:10 PM, with no bus in sight and no communication from the company, I had to call customer service myself. The agent initially told me there were no delays she was aware of, but said she would check.
A few minutes later she called back and informed me that the bus had actually been moved to 6 PM.
My concern is this: why was there no communication sent to passengers about the schedule change? My brother had already been sitting at the station for hours. It’s unfair to leave paying customers stranded without updates and only inform them when they call to ask.
Transport companies should respect passengers’ time and ensure clear and proactive communication when schedules change.
Very disappointing experience.
