As a tax payer why should I be responsible for someone else mistake as ti an under estimated account of the City of Cape Town.
My Tenant sent an complaint to me as there is a possibility of an underground leak. As a landlord would do the necessary checks such as leaks etc the plumber has informed there is a underground/wall leak i had authorized him to repair the leak as my monthly account was shooting up as to a high account of water/electricity. I got thr necessary forms road report an underground leak and will need time to sort out the account .
I have spent a half day at the Plumstead Branch to discover that is was not a underground leak it was due to an under estimated reading that was done by the council department, thatdoes the reading of the meters. When i requested payment arrangements i was told that an upfront payment had to be done and forms to completed.
As a tax payer I refuses to pay this mistake. After all its not my mistake. As I would like this to be sorted out AS SOON AS POSSIBLE.
Thank you
