I purchased a vehicle from Chery Lenasia, and my experience has been extremely disappointing from both the dealership and Chery South Africa.
I was pressured to sign the contract on 31 January so the dealership could conclude the sale, despite only taking delivery of the vehicle in February. This raised immediate concerns about how the sale was handled.
Since then, the service and communication have been unacceptable. I have had to continuously follow up, with little to no response from either the dealership or Chery customer services. Queries are ignored, and there is no accountability.
The quality of the vehicle itself has also been poor, which is very concerning for a new purchase.
Even more worrying is that the Chery Tiggo 7 has reportedly received a low safety rating in South Africa, which raises serious concerns about the safety and reliability of the vehicle I have purchased.
To add to the frustration, I had to wait approximately 7 weeks to receive number plates & license disc, causing unnecessary inconvenience.
This entire experience falls far below what is expected under the Consumer Protection Act, which requires goods to be of good quality and services to be delivered in a timely and fair manner.
If this matter is not addressed urgently, I will escalate it to the National Consumer Commission and consider further action.
I expect immediate attention, proper communication, and a resolution to both the vehicle quality concerns and the unacceptable level of service.
I was also promised a "gift", but that is also a mission as nobody suddenly knows about it.
If you consider buying the Chery brand, do your homework, but AT ALL COST, avoid this dealership AT ALL COST - please do not fall victim like I did!!!!
