Heartfelt Thanks to Mr Dieter Fittakau, Mr Senzo & the Ballito Junction Mall Security Team I would like to sincerely thank Mr Dieter Fittakau and Mr Senzo (who was on-call on the evening of 05 July 2025) from the Ballito Junction Centre Mall Security team for their incredible assistance during a very stressful situation. After a long day, I had mistakenly left a large bag of shopping — worth over R5,000 — in a trolley at the Level 6 parking area. I only realised this when I had already arrived in Yellowwood Park at my mother’s home. We live in Richards Bay and only travel to Durban occasionally to stock up, so this was devastating to realise. Despite the fact that the mall cannot be held responsible for items accidentally left behind, both Mr Dieter and Mr Senzo responded to my frantic call with care, urgency, and genuine empathy. They had no obligation to assist, yet they went out of their way to help me — not knowing whether they would even find the bag, but committed to doing their best. By the grace of God and with their help, I found Mr Senzo and his security team waiting for me with my shopping bag — still in the same trolley, open, but with everything still inside. I was overwhelmed with relief and gratitude. They even kindly encouraged me to check that all my items were still there, assuring me that if anything was missing, they’d try their best to assist further. It’s rare to come across individuals who go above and beyond their job descriptions with such kindness, professionalism, and heart. Thank you, Mr Dieter, Mr Senzo, and the whole security team. May the Lord richly bless you for your compassion and diligence. Ballito Junction is truly fortunate to have such outstanding people on their team. Words will never be enough to express my gratitude. The shopping Centre has a wide range of shops in it. Convenient to those using public transport, with taxi ranks near and around it. However the taxis around it make it impossible to enter the Centre, particularly if you'll be driving there. The chaos around the Centre is the only downside to it really. The mall itself is just meh. There is no AC which is shocking. I think that Taxis should be made ******* in KZN becuase they really ruin it for everyone else in the area.

I had a terrible experience at Junction. The mall itself is fine even though it has no AC except for in the individual shops... unless there is loadshedding, but the people who linger around it make the experience unpleasant. I felt unsafe walking around because of the sketchy individuals who were loitering around the mall entrance and parking lot. It's clear that the mall doesn't take security seriously, and it's not worth risking your safety to shop there. I would not recommend Ballito Junction to anyone looking for a safe and enjoyable shopping experience. Go to Gateway rather.

Do yourself a huge favour the next time you are in Junction Mall Ballito. Visit Checkers little coffee shop next to the deli and bakery, and have a chai latte. Honestly, I have been to multiple restaurants across SA, let alone Ballito, but I want to tell you that their chai is simply the best! I stumbled upon it quite by accident one day, and now I make a point of going there when I feel like a decent chai. And it's under R25 for the Grande, served in a proper mug...not paper...and you can sit down at a table and just enjoy. The staff are super pleasant as well. Well done Checkers Ballito Junction! P.S. The cafe latte and cappuccino are event too.

There are not a lot of very interesting or unique shops here. Most of the shops can be found at just about any mall in the country, but they of course do not receive the same stock that other malls in places like JHB or cape town have. The mall is also not even airconditioned. Like the individual shops have to provide their own. The planning around it is poor, too. You can tell that it was much smaller and that they just added a bunch to it when the demand for it grew. They use this draconian system where you have to get a paper card for parking. You need to scan it before you leave. For regular shoppers or visitors to the mall, there is no subscription based system or card for regulars to carry, so that sucks. It feels pretty old-timey to me. The mall is just alright. I prefer gateway. I will say that an hour of parking is free, so that is one advantage that it has. It is pretty generous, but if you want to see a movie or somethiing, then you have to pay.

Ordered the KFC Tuesday special at Ballito Junction 01/02/2022 at 17:15 and was told that id have to wait 15 minutes to have it ready as there were a few orders. Went to have a drink and at half past my order was still not ready. I waited until 18:08 with a bunch of disgruntled people to be told our orders were not ready. On the screen my order 274 at 18:10 was still under preparing. The attitude and service from the staff was degusting to say the least and what fast food restaurant takes a whole hour to have a simple order ready!!!!!!! I am very disappointed and requested for a refund and left, I would rather advise people to avoid that KFC at all costs and rather go to the one thats at the BP. ..
