Disappointing gifting for my mother in law's 90th birthday. Their courier put the wrong address on the gift resulting in a 2000km detour. No idea what kind of condition the poor biscuits were in by the time they reached her (very late). Also put my name instead of the recipient even though I wrote specifically to check that all was in order and was assured it was. Security wouldn't have known who it was for if I hadn't checked up. Babylonstoren and Aramex were not overly concerned or apologetic. Stressful process that required many interventions. I always wondered if they were overpriced and now I know

What an amazing experience. Bought last minute gift to take with on a business trip to Accra Ghana. Babylonstoren s online shop went the extra mile. The items was neatly packed and transported without damage through two flights. Arriving in Ghana, to my surprise they gift wrapped each tin of rooibos tea and added an hand written card (added the message on the online site) and added gift bags. What a wonderful way to return African hospitality

Complete lack of response or service after being informed that Babylonstoren cannot fulfil deliveries within 2 days of order as set out on their website. There is seemingly no one willing to take responsibility for their poor service and planning at a busy time of the year. Very disappointing after previously good experiences with the company.

Pathetic delivery service from Babylonstoren. Ordered a Father’s Day gift which won’t be delivered in time. Ordered items within the specified delivery guidelines that’s stipulated on their website. Yolande at Babylonstoren was absolutely of no help and refused to even rectify the problem. She shifted blame onto the courier service, the courier service that Babylonstoren chose to use. For a company of such a size they should be more helpful. Thanks for nothing Babylonstoren!!!

My daughter ordered two gifts from Babylonstoren to be delivered by ARAMEX. What a disaster. The two gifts had the recipients name yet ARAMEX asked for my daughter when delivering - obviously where it was delivered did not know my daughter so the gifts were taken back. Babylonstoren response is for my daughter to contact ARAMEX - firstly bad service - ARAMEX is Babylonstoren choice of courier - they should sort it out. Secondly has anyone every successfully reached Aramex. Now after more complaining Babylonstoren woke up and there has been calls to my daughter - too little too late - bad service and now how does she know what the condition of the two gifts will be? Her clients wont complain and say thanks for the gifts but they were in poor condition. REally bad taste in our mouth with Babylonstoren service - all pretty pictures and marketing but it needs substance behind it - good service, follow through ..... is required.

Babylonstoren Spa was a complete disappointment. My partner bought a couples massage and pedicure as a Christmas gift, expecting luxury, but the experience was frustrating from start to finish. Booking was a hassle—the staff were rude and unhelpful, and they don’t even offer online gift cards. The changing rooms were cramped and lacked privacy, with staff constantly opening the doors. The massage was weak, unprofessional, and barely 45 minutes long. The pedicure was even worse—done on the massage bed while I sat awkwardly in a towel. The technician rushed through trimming and painting, skipped soaking and massaging, smudged the polish, and used flimsy flip-flops. For R800, it was unacceptable. Sorbet offers a far superior pedicure for R350. Facilities were underwhelming—a tiny pool area, broken salt room, and massage jets that didn’t work. The spa felt poorly maintained. Worse still, hotel guests and non-spa visitors from the farm were allowed to walk freely through the spa area. I felt completely exposed and privacy invaded while walking to and from treatments in my gown—totally unacceptable for a so-called luxury spa. To top it off, the manager barged into the changing room while my partner was dressing, then chased us in the parking lot to accuse us of not paying, despite prepaying. This spa is overpriced and mismanaged. We regret not choosing Lanzerac or 12 Apostles, which offer better service for less. Avoid Babylonstoren Spa if you value professionalism and quality.
