****ty Experience with the Newcastle Branch
My experience with Amathole Funeral Home was nothing short of disgraceful. During one of the most painful times for my family, this funeral home showed zero professionalism, zero compassion, and zero accountability. We were refused service without any reason, and then left to sit for over five hours while staff members ignored us completely. Not once did anyone offer an update, an apology, or even basic courtesy. Instead of taking responsibility, the staff blamed each other, made excuses, and spoke to us in an unbelievably rude and dismissive manner. Their behaviour was shocking—especially from a business that claims to support grieving families. The level of incompetence and disrespect we witnessed is unacceptable in any industry, but for a funeral home, it is absolutely appalling. They added unnecessary emotional stress at a time when we were already vulnerable. I strongly advise families to think twice before trusting Amathole Funeral Home. No one deserves to go through what we experienced.

Amathole is a ****
i have app**** for the policy to cover 12 people in 2022 March, i send a whatsApp to the person i was speaking to and the list of people i want to be covered, they gave me a number to use when i am paying at Boxer, Pick and pay, i have been receiving an sms reminding me to pay and after paying they send an sms thanking me for making payment, i recently lost my grandmother, she was one of the people on my list, i called them to claim, to my suprise they told me that it does not any names under my policy except mine, meaning i didnt cover anyone, it only my name, i started paying R250 and now its R280 meaning i have been paying for nothing since 2022, why was that not picked that the names are not showing whereas they send me sms reminding me to pay without fail, i went to their offices at Bara mall, was told that they can add the names but i will have a waiting period of 5 months, WHAT A JOKE, i have been paying on time every month and i never skip not even one month, Amathole is a joke, they are misleading us, they dont value their clients, they are selling us dreams, i wants my money that i have been paying since 2022 and i promise will use all the resources i have to make sure that they are exposed, will even call ukhozi FM because i heard about on Ukhozi, meaning they are working together to mislead people of SA, they are ****ming people their hard earned cash, not in my watch

Amathole is a ****

They don't want to bury the child
I have a funeral policy cover with amathole funerals, and unfortunately the child has passed on she was only 3month and she was covered but when I claim they told me the child need to be 5months so they can bury the child now I have the body of the child I can't bury but I have the policy that I was paying

Amathole Funeral service
I am not a client of Amathole funeral services, a guy by the name of Sthabiso Khumalo i think his from the Stanger branch, came in to our company for assistance and i enquired about the services his company offers and he gave me a pamphlet with all the details, this was mid 2024, and then this year 2025.02.13 i contacted him on whatsapp to take up the policy, but 1st i asked for clarity before writing it up, Lord the Attitude the guy gave is pathetic, he was impatient and when i told him to be please patient with me , he told me im not serious about taking up the policy and im not doing him any favor by wanting to be a client at Amathole Funeral Service, i must just not continue with the policy, furthermore he said um a ******er he suspected from the word go that there is something fishy about me taking the policy, i told him to leave it i would try another company, im not sure if that what the staff is thought to speak to clients

Upon contacting Portia and explaining my situation - including my consistent payment history since 2017 and providing proof of my payments - I was assured that my concerns would be addressed. However, despite her promise to revert to me, I have yet to receive any follow-up communication from her. Frustrated by the lack of resolution and continued confusion surrounding my policy status, I visited Amathole Funeral Service's office on February 1st, only to be met with disappointment. Despite arriving prepared with all necessary receipts to validate my payments, I was informed that they do not acknowledge receipts from customers. This information came as a shock to me, as I have diligently maintained my payment records and never missed a payment. Furthermore, my attempts to reach out to Portia, the District Manager, for clarification were met with unprofessional behavior, as she not only hung up on my calls but also proceeded to block further communication from my end. This disrespectful treatment, coupled with the lack of accountability and transparency exhibited by Amathole Funeral Service, has deeply unsettled me. As a loyal customer who has faithfully upheld my end of the agreement, I find it unacceptable to be disregarded and mistreated in this manner. The recurrent lapses in my policy status, despite my consistent payments, are concerning and raise doubts about the integrity of Amathole Funeral Service's operations. In light of these distressing circumstances and the inadequate response from Amathole Funeral Service, I insist on a prompt resolution to this matter. I kindly request a thorough investigation into the discrepancies surrounding my policy status and immediate clarification on the issues at hand.
