So,after many emails to various organisations ie SASSA,Dept Social Development and to the main office of the AFM for Dr.Henri Weidemans attention it would seem after all this trouble that the ******* deductions taking place in the afm home for the aged Samuel Street Sarepta Kuils River will carry on as usual under the watch of *** and whilst he is in charge nothing will change. The donation of R1.5 m from Standard Bank will also be swept under the carpet and Trevor Herbert will carry on with his threating manner and being a "pastor" it is all ok.

When one reads the article of 27 June 2005 by News24 Church *****, Apostolic Faith Mission "alleged *****" and see's what is taking place ,for years,in the AFM home for the Aged, Samuel Street, Sarepta, Kuils River and hears that a donation of R1.5 million by Standard Bank to replace all roofing and gutters etc is suddenly "withdrawn" one must wonder what is happening here and if the previous "manager" Maxie Herbst and a Mr.T.Herbert who is also the bookkeeper are not somehow involved in money going "missing" Also part of the huge problem taking place in this home is the fact, according to the SASSA website, the home is only entitled to 75% of a residents grant and 25% must be paid to the residents is not being followed and the sassa card must be kept by the residents and not the home is also not lawful. The residents are, according to the law supposed to pay the 75% for "accommodation?" When all of the above was brought to the attention of "management" their answers have always been that they had the right to do so or as T.Herbert put it "it was none of the residents business When a potential candidate app**** to enter the home because they were "living on the street " they had to sign a contract which states that the home had the full right to take the full SASSA grant or else they would not be admitted and this too is not much of a choice one can consider so they sign away everything including the 25% The home is possibly under investigation by various organisations, one of them hopfully SASSA themselves and if this is true then the quicker changes start happening the better for present and future residents. Lastly one can only hope that a Pastor Peter de Witt at email *** hears about what is happening in the AFM home and "does the right thing"

******** Social grants deductions. I refer to emails sent to Black Sash at *** and *** and to Sassa at *** on January 1 and 5,2026 and asking for a reply from both organisations on January 13 but to date have received no reply from either and thus this email to hellopeter.com know they will get this information, again My emails to both these organisations with information regarding the ******* deductions which also included the Covid-19 deductions reads as follows: We the residents of the AFM home for the Aged, Samuel Street, Sarepta, Kuils River would appreciate if an investigation can be done in this home as to why we have our full sassa old age grant deducted and why has this been going on for years? When Covid made its appearance March 5,2019 and government gave all recipients an additional amount of R250 + for 6 months or longer and when the previous "manager" Mrs Maxie Herbst was queried she informed the residents in no uncertain manner, that they had the right to do so. Will this now happen when SASSA Bonus Grant 2026 which the government has announced and appeared on the internet January 4,2026 by SAANVI also be taken? On January the residents house committee was informed that a SASSA representative was going to visit the home on January 13,a Mr Kinnear would be coming but not about the ******** and ******* deductions. On January 8,2026 an article appeared also on the internet that SASSA was increasing the grant of beneficiaries as from January 17,2026 so this begs the question again, will this also be deducted? The house committee has on a number of occassions, through the manager, requested the presence of a board member,in particular a Mr Trevor W Herbert to please set a date to visit the home and explain to the residents why their full grant is taken every month but he keeps asking for a "new date" which he never keeps Is the AFM board and SASSA trying to keep everything quiet and hope the problem of ******* deductions goes away? Lastly, Department of Social Development who we believe is possibly aware of what is taking place in the home and we should contact the Minister of Social Development, Western Cape,Mr J.Londt at email : *** to ask for advice.

I refer to my contacting *** on August 14,2025 requesting an investigation into the afm old age home in Kuis River in which I have been a resident for the past few years and what we as residents experience on a daily basis and that nothing,no matter who we approach, has changed. On August 18 I received an email from the Devi show journalist who worked on the Serenity Haven Frail Care Centre who needed more concrete evidence from family members of residents that they can get in touch with and current/former care workers. On August 18 and in early September I emailed him as much information as I could of all past emails I had sent to the AFM Welfare head office,to pastors of the church and the social worker and to hellopeter.com, with the hope that all this information would somehow prove of the steps taken that the home should be investigated. I explained in the email that I could not provide any current/former carers names or contact details as these are the people who were threatened by the manager and the "H R" office who was the managers daughter that they must not divulge any information to the residents about what happens in the home. My response was the same about family members of residents as I do not know or have spoken to anyone. I also mentioned that after the previous "manager" Mrs Maxie Herbst retired at the end of March this year she had a lot to do in having her daughter who has absolutely no management experience, given the position as manager although we were informed that this was temporary. I suspect that the pastor who slammed the phone down in my ear when I tried to explain the reason when and why I went to see my attorney and told me in no uncertain terms that they too have attorneys, has much to do with the daughters position as manager. The social worker who is also a pastor has been informed of all the problems regarding the "food" the residents are served and how unhappy they are,the leaking roofs where plastic bags must be thrown over beds to stop it getting wet, donations from Woolworths and other church donors etc and how trolleys of vegetables, boxes of chicken and rolls of bacon are brought in by the kichen manager and a week later these same go out to the kitchen managers car. This has never happened in all the years and when staff members shake their heads in disbelief one knows that there is an investigation required because the reasons given by the previous manager and the kitchen managers about "new suppliers" and the social worker is informed but no feedback the suspicion grows stronger. The thousands of rands of s**** removed by the managers husband and questions asked where and who got the money. I have now decides to once again approach hellopeter.com and hope that this might show, once again, that we do need an investigation because to approach Department of Social Development would be a waste of time as I have written to them in the past about many problems but this was always referred back to the manager and a "cover-up" would take place and I would be threatened by the manager that she would inform the board about my stay in the home. All of what I have written must be investigated asap.
