How does the 086 scam work? It all starts with “fake” recruiters. These “recruiters” post fake job offers and request that job seekers direct their Curriculum Vitae’s to their fax number. The fax number draws high rate charges from your telephone bill, which is always beyond the standard rate. For every page you fax, fake recruiters receive money. Therefore, if you, the job seeker, decides to send your CV to any fax number beginning with the numbers 086, you will pay a substantial amount of money. Read further, for tips to spot a scam.

I am unemployed and work on all reputable sites, allegedly reputable, in order to find work. I have NEVER been to Workmart or applied for anything from them and I suddenly begin receiving daily emails to submit my information for the position I applied for. They are the biggest scammers alive, along with Workit, Exquisite Vacancies, Careerpaths, Staffnet and Careerworld who ALL seem to be doing the same to get my information. The mere fact that they have preyed on an unemployed person to get their information by offering them false hopes for work is absolutely disgusting and unforgiveable! If I found one of these people they would simply vanish! Unacceptable! They should be locked up and forgotten about.

some recruiting companies like Workmart invites you to a preview interview and you must fax about 37 pages. Alot of people are unemployed and can not affort to pay for faxes. this looks like a scam. nobody uses faxes anymore. WHY must we send faxes? you can not reply back on the emails sent due to the fact it is a noreply email address. IS THIS A SCAM TO MAKE MONEY OUT OF THE POOR?
