Unhappy stay
I am admitted from the 10th of August to date . the treatment that I am getting here is really frustrating ,here are the following things that happened Food we eat is on another level, it is old food Not forgetting the toilet rolls in the bathrooms Sister Precious who was in charge on the 16th because I did ECT they brought food and was very cold, the lady that I sleep with is the one who went to warm the food, After coming from ECT my blood pressure was not monitored as per procedure. Sister Loreta working night shift and her staff, on the 16th I was in pain ,I went to ask for the pain medication, she then told me that it is because I have a very high blood pressure and there is nothing she can do about it and they were supposed to give me medication but she said she can not help me with anything, I then called my Dr. Pillay as I was in pain then said I must give Loreta the phone, then when she brought back the phone she did not knock and threw my phone on the bed then she left and tell me DR says if it does not go down I must go to the general hospital. She then came back and rudely told me about the medication she is giving and talked looking at the other direction. As she went out she banged our door and my room mate had a panic attack and we were afraid to ask for help because she was rude to us. The other issue with sister Loreto is that she touches our pills with her hands when issuing them and that is not hygienic that is not allowed. The fact that it happen in front of her stuff today they are giving me the cold shoulder. Then Sister Lydique also the same thing this morning when I was in pain in the room I asked for medication then she came back and gave me the medication however there was hostility coming from her because she was insisting that it is my blood pressure causing the problems whilst they were not monitoring me as they were supposed as professionals that they are. In a nutshell Sister Loreta and Sister Lydique including their staff were abusive to me and some other patients.

unsafe and volatile environment
im just grateful for my DRs but The facility itself very disappointing and the nurses lack people's skills, it's almost like those nurses u find at public hospitals and if u are not careful they may drive u nuts that u end up worse than u were when u entered. also why aren't there locks? someone stole my earphones there worth R2700, the manager said to me he was going to investigate the matter and give me feedback and this was around the 10/02/2025 and till today i'm discharged and the manager hasn't said nothing. it is almost as if they are protecting the *****. They claimed on google reviews that my headsets were misplaced insinuating that they were found but my question stands, where are my headsets as im still awaiting feedback from the manager. a place where people are supposed to be safe is a place where they come on social media and LIE, utterly disgusting. the manager still hasn't gotten back to me and i left the place 15/02/2025. i would not recommend this place to anyone especially dealing with mental health.

The worst decision I've ever made in my life was to allow my husband to be admitted at Vista Unfortunately we are on Military Medical and cannot just pack up & leave The place is a prison; the rules are **********, and it feels like a jail. You can't see your family or visitors for the first 4 days!!! This was ridiculous in my husbandβs situation he has depression he is not an addict that is, there for rehab & his biggest fear is being locked up and separated from people he loves. The rules are ridiculous. My husband is a 39 year-old man, it feels like they are infringing on one's human rights. When I have to take my husband clean clothes it must go to a separate entrance where it must be searched how inhumane is that strangers going through your underwear it is absolutely ridiculous they must really get to know their patients & get to know who is there for what reasons. These ridiculous rules are only explained while your family has already left and you are busy with admission, and they expect the patient to sign all forms, how can a patient that is not in a good mind space sign these forms without the primary care taker being there. Someone with depression is just going to agree to everything without thinking it through. None of the medical personnel even has the decency to speak to me as the primary care taker of my husband on his progress how am I suppose to support my husband and help him grow once discharged. There is absolutely no communication between the medical staff & family. The receptionist and nurses are friendly until you are admitted.....after that, they treat you like a child, which I am not accustomed to. I would never, ever consider going to that facility again, especially not for my husbands type of situation. This is not only unsettling & disturbing for the patient but every day that I go there and driving home I am traumatised. It is an extremely disheartening and damaging experience, not a facility for my

This was ridiculous in my husbandβs situation he has depression he is not an addict that is, there for rehab & his biggest fear is being locked up and separated from people he loves. The rules are ridiculous. My husband is a 39 year-old man, it feels like they are infringing on one's human rights. When I have to take my husband clean clothes it must go to a separate entrance where it must be searched how inhumane is that strangers going through your underwear it is absolutely ridiculous they must really get to know their patients & get to know who is there for what reasons. These ridiculous rules are only explained while your family has already left and you are busy with admission, and they expect the patient to sign all forms, how can a patient that is not in a good mind space sign these forms without the primary care taker being there. Someone with depression is just going to agree to everything without thinking it through. None of the medical personnel even has the decency to speak to me as the primary care taker of my husband on his progress how am I suppose to support my husband and help him grow once discharged. There is absolutely no communication between the medical staff & family. The receptionist and nurses are friendly until you are admitted.....after that, they treat you like a child, which I am not accustomed to. I would never, ever consider going to that facility again, especially not for my husbands type of situation. This is not only unsettling & disturbing for the patient but every day that I go there and driving home I am traumatised. Unprofessional untrained staff
1 star for Elina (or however u spell it) at case management at the Admin section. She has no professionalism whatsoever. An undermining attitude, dismissive attitude and talks to you like you're a retard. Totally unacceptable for such an environment. 1 star for a particular OT/facilitator The colored lady who gave a lesson at Erica ward on Tuesday ( 17 Oct 2023, 9am) She talks to you about GENERAL KNOWLEDGE stuff for less than 3 minutes then after class undiagnoses you. She doesn't even know why I am here yet she feels she can undiagnose me. Again totally irresponsible and dangerous in such an environment. If she wants to diagnose and un- diagnose patients she must just be a psychiatrist and not an facilitator.
