Excellent service! Student representative Henno Smit went above and beyond. He kept us constantly informed and reassured us as parents throughout. We cannot wait for our son to start his university experience at Varsity College Pretoria.

Finance department: Bad service, incompetence, unprofessional. Debit order are going through successfully every month for the last two years but I still receive annoying messages which I know they will say sorry it was a mistake.

I am extremely disappointed with the way Varsity College Pretoria Campus has handled my refund request for a remark fee I paid in 2024. After receiving my second semester marks, I app**** for a remark for the Independent Research Project module and paid the required R550 fee. A few weeks later, I decided to cancel the remark before the process had even started. I followed all the necessary steps. I filled out the cancellation form and submitted my proof of payment as instructed. Since then, I have been going in circles with the finance department for months. Initially, I was told that because my tuition account was covered by a sponsor, I needed a letter from my sponsor confirming that the refund could be issued to me personally. I had no problem with that, I obtained the letter and sent it through promptly. Instead of finalizing the refund, I was met with even more bureaucracy. I was told that the financial department now needed confirmation that the person who wrote the sponsor letter “knows me” and even suggested that I get a parent to verify this. This is completely unreasonable, especially when I already submitted proof that the payment came from my personal bank account and not from my sponsor. The lack of communication, constant shifting of requirements, and failure to resolve this simple issue is unacceptable. It has now been months, and I am still waiting for a refund that I am rightfully owed. I expected more professionalism and efficiency from an institution like Varsity College. I sincerely hope this matter is escalated and resolved immediately and that other students don’t have to endure such a frustrating and drawn-out process.

My Daughter started her LLB Degree at Varsity Pretoria a bit more than 4 years ago. At the start I was a bit sceptic and asked 2 senior players in the law industry for their advice. Both did not know a lot about Varsity and did research. Both came back to me and said it seems to be ok. (Better than anticipated). She finished her 4 year degree last year without any problems and without any class disruptions as Varsity do not allow this. Today we had her graduation ceromony and with me as a white parent, with +-80 % of the parents being black , I was a bit worried. No problems at all. What a pleasure to see only PROUD parents all around. And when a blind white young lady received her award, with a guide dog leading, the first parents to leap to a standing celebration, was Black parents. One big bearded black law student received his degree, to a loud applause from fellow students, and the firrst person he come to greet was a old lady in a wheelchair. Most likely his Grandmother. Hee spent at least 5 minutes with her before moving to his parents. These are the leaders we need in our country.

I'm writing this review as a warning to others: beware of Varsity College's appalling lack of urgency when it comes to supporting their students. I recently completed my qualification, but my excitement was short-lived. I urgently needed my letter of completion for employment purposes, but Varsity College seems to be operating on a different timeline. Despite numerous requests and follow-ups, I've been met with silence and excuses. It's unacceptable that an institution that claims to prepare students for the workforce can't even provide a simple document in a timely manner. I didn't pay a small fortune to end up unemployed because of Varsity College's inefficiencies. I started my qualification while employed, but now I'm facing unemployment due to their lack of urgency. Varsity College, you need to do better. Your students deserve better.
