The Hollow Tree Restaurant
shocking service and disgusting burger patties...never eat there again!! we as a family have been going there for about 5 years ...no more. the whole vibe has gone and there is hardly people sitting and eating in the restaurant, there is more people in the pub area

Do Not Recommend- rather go to MCDs
Food was overpriced, kitchen was slow (by the time our waitress was made aware the food was room temp at best), I could have made McCain frozen chips at home, whomever is buying their meat clearly does not know what Wagyu is (my burger was normal beef, I only eat Wagyu so I know the difference!), the saurkraut was not fresh, mash potato was cold and lumpy and gravy that came with the Einstein tasted like lamb (leftover from a carvery), place is full of 20's somethings who do not know how to behave themselves in public - but I suppose the ****py food is disguised by the fact that their patrons are almost all rip roaring drunk by the time they get their food. How do you not have a non alcoholic beverage menu??? This place used to be amazing, I brought my wife through for date night - what an utter disgrace!!!

Very very disappointing and horrible
The service was bad, I literally had to go fetch the menu myself and that’s when I was assisted. The food there is a big NO NO, my 10 year old daughter cooks better, the ribs were crunchy, the meat was tasteless with no flavor like it was boiled and not grilled, the veg’s were over cooked and soggy, don’t get me started on the mash potatoes no flavor, looked like it was leftovers. I wouldn’t recommend this restaurant to anyone and the waiter had the nerve to ask if the food was great. I’m really disappointed. And it’s a pity that it was the only place that was open.

Happy to visit again
We have visited once on quiz night and also on a normal weeknight. I was very impressed with our waitress' warm and welcoming demeanour, she made sure that our needs were met throughout our time there. We liked the food, we loved the vibe. We look forward to visiting again soon.

Happy to visit again

The hallow tree oak dale
Very poor service and food is a BIG NO ! Food is bleak with no flavor , The Meaty Pizza was terrible very sour , chicken strips and calamari also poor quality, food was just not presentable at all ! I’m very very disappointed at this restaurant/ Bar. THE FOOD MADE ME SICK !

Poor service at The Hollow Tree , Old Oak Road , Bellville
It is wise during the lockdown under current level 3 to phone to find out what a restaurant has available. Do I call in to find out if there is Alcohol Free Beer On Tap. Yes we have Devils Peak. Drive up to Hollow Tree , order drinks for the table , all the drinks arrive , but alas Devils Peak is not available, they have run out. In 15 minutes they ran out......... ***. Pathetic that staff do not know what is available. The Hollow Tree will not see me again. Do not bull **** a client just to get feet. I paid for wife colddrink and left.

Never Again! literally disgusted
Poor service....Waitress was basically bullying me into giving her a tip when I repeated needed to tell her what I wanted . Played deaf when I said I'm not going to tip her and that there's a reason why she didn't give me a pen......Quality of food is disappointing and being a loyal customer is really disheartening
