I am so disappointed and appalled by JHB Aacl branch. I adopted a 3 month old puppy on the 30th Aug. I went through the entire adoption process, inspection, medically cleared her...The day i fetched her i was told she's a little thin as she was a rescue pup, little did i know that she was infected with Parvo virus. I took her home, we all fell in love with her. She became my whole world. On the 6th evening she was very sick, i didn't think she would make it through the night. Early morning i took her to aacl and waited 2 hours for someone to help me. They tested her positive for Parvo virus and admitted her for treatment, she died the same day she was admitted. I only found out the next day when i had to phone for an update. The manager told me not to get another puppy for a whole year as no matter how much i sterilize everything, the Parvo virus will still be there. So what does that say about their centre?? All the puppies that were with her are probably sick too. I honestly believe that they didn't even bother to help her. She was under the 21 days free medical care after adoption, and i read that the treatment for Parvo virus can be very expensive, they probably didn't want to waste their resources on her!!! I blame myself for not taking her somewhere else, maybe she would still be alive. I'm going to live with that for the rest of my life!!! I only had her for 1 week and i miss her so much💔 she made such a difference in our lives and now shes gone😭
