Solar Bay FRAUD and THEFT - Lay charges with SAPS if you have been affected!!!
Large scale fraud is the only way to describe this. Loads of people have been victim to this guy and his companies taking money and not delivering, and on top of that causing damage to property. I have lost R140 000 (R285 000 total), plus about R55 000 in electricity bills that should have been R0 if the solar was installed in February 2020, as was agreed. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reach out to me on flyingdutoit by gee mail, I will happily supply all the information I have. Numerous people have laid charges with SAPS and I have some people starting to looking at it. My biggest concern at the moment though, is ABSA's ineptness(?) to take this up. I have been sending details as they requested for 7 days in a row now, but Victoria Mahole from the fraud devision just keeps asking for "A detailed statement including the events that lead to a scam, account numbers involved, amounts, dates transactions took place." I have made this available to them repeatedly. I am at a loss for words. Shockingly bad service and I'm starting to wonder and jump to conclusions....

Bring a stop to Jonathan Stephenson scamming people
If you have been scammed by Jonathan Stephenson at Solar Bay, please contact Nyaradzo at Gunston Attorneys in Cape Town. She is dealing with my own matter against him. You'll have to google her contact details as this site doesn't allow me to publish phone numbers or emails. I have evidence of money going from Solar Bay into the account of another company that Jonathan is a Director of, which is in the tobacco industry. Clearly he didn't use your deposits to buy solar equipment. Happy to assist anyone in bringing this fraudster to justice

I have evidence of money going from Solar Bay into the account of another company that Jonathan is a Director of, which is in the tobacco industry. Clearly he didn't use your deposits to buy solar equipment. Happy to assist anyone in bringing this fraudster to justice

Stay away from Jonathan Stevenson and solar bay
Very bad experience received from solar bay. Contact Jonathan from solar bay early in September and arranged for my solar system to be install within 3 weeks, I paid out the deposit and waited, after receiving the run around and excuse after excuse I requested a refund of the deposit in December 2020, I received a promise that it would be paid the next week then the excuses started again, the last communication I have had with Jonathan was on 31 March 2021 where again he has promised to pay back the money owed to me, till today I still have not seen either the solar panels or invertors or any of my money back, I would advise people to stay clear of him and any business he has, I am now having to resort to go the legal route to try and recoup some of my money

Stay away from Jonathan Stevenson and solar bay

BEWARE of SOLAR BAY SA
SOLAR BAY - Takes your deposit and does not deliver. Jonothan Stephenson is an absolute lying snakeskin salesman. He actually believes his own stories. It is one excuse and one deadline after another. He has done exactly the same in the water drilling business under the name Jon Stephenson. DO NOT DEAL WITH THIS MAN. I paid a deposit on the 17th June 2020, there were many efforts to get the goods on-site but it never happened. His last deadline was the 3rd of Dec 2020. He had more excuses. He then said the suppliers had changed this and the next. Then he said he had to change companies as there was no support. Then a promise for a date and then an excuse and the same thing over and over. Jonothan Stephenson is a compulsive liar. Shamelessly poor
If I could give a negative rating I would have. Johnathan Stephenson has not delivered on any of his promises since August last year. I have paid for the solar panels, the inverter, the batteries upfront in two tranches (my first mistake) and to date I have no PV system. He shamelessly makes excuses day after day after day for not getting the equipment, not having the panels, not having the inverter, waiting for the batteries, having Covid, being mugged/hijacked, having Covid again, vehicle being stoned, being dropped by the electrician, another bout of Covid, getting another electrician who now wants him to change the wiring again, electrician having a fall and unable to walk, yet another electrician. Now my inverter and batteries are gone. For the last two weeks, he EVERY DAY promises to be here to complete the next day. He has no shame. I am now reporting the equipment that I paid for and that were removed from my premises as stolen, and I am taking legal action to hold him liable for the cost of others to complete the installation. I have never dealt with such a thick skinned and shameless serial excuse making non performer in my life.
