I placed my order at 7:36 on 6 February 2016. I must admit that I did not check that the delivery date was correct before I finalised the order but I do not think it unreasonable to assume that a same-day delivery service will default the delivery day to the same day. I immediately phoned them when I received the invoice to correct my mistake and the man I spoke to assured me that he called the Pretoria offices and they confirmed that they will be able to change the date to today. Feeling reassured I did not think twice until I got an email from Evandre Slammert that said that they will not be able to change the delivery date because this was a big occasion and that they were fully booked with deliveries. I, unsurprisingly, asked for a refund as I was extremely put off by this double standards. I was told (suddenly rather formally) that the refund would take 5 to 7 days and that refunds are only processed on Tuesdays and Thursdays. No apologies. Nothing. Now, I know that it wasn't her fault that other people made promises that they could not keep but being a representative of the company, I would have liked her to at least acknowledge this, if not from her, but from the company. (On a side note, it is interesting to me that companies can take your money immediately but when it comes to refunds, they can only give back your money after a certain amount of time elapsed.) So this is my sad story. I can understand that this was a busy day being the Friday before Mother's day but if the man whom I spoke to in the morning had told me that it would be impossible to change the delivery day, I could have cancelled my current order, placed a new one for today right then and there and still have been in time to order the flowers for same-day delivery. I used their service once before and had no issues whatsoever so this really disappointed me.
