In May, we were informed that the statement procedure was going to change. My sons have been in ADvTECH schools for a number of years. I rang the school (Abbotts College Northcliff and Pinnacle Linden) to make sure bank details had not changed so payment could be made before the start June. This was done, R8600 paid to Abbotts College. On the June 4th, a card payment was declined due to insufficient funds. When I checked, a direct debit had gone through for R9808.50 for Abbotts College. When I enquired, through the new contact details given on the statement, I was told they had no idea why this had happened, the payment was not reflecting either that I had made. Seems this happened to several parents according the person I spoke to. Other than a vague apology, no other action has been taken yet. No explanation as to why so much had been debited either. Very poor show from a company who demands payment on time!
My son was attacked and his phone was ******. We tried unsuccessfully to block his phone but as he was in shock, he could not remember details pertaining to the calls he had made and data bundles he had purchased. We tried to ring back to try the security questions again and from 6pm, option 9 on the menu to speak to an agent went back to the start of the menu and we could not get through. We still cannot blacklist the phone.
On Saturday last week, I was assaulted by the security guard at Bakers Bin Lynnwood. As this was after centre management hours of operation, I rang the centre management offices on Monday morning. I was put through to a Jan Lottering who asked me to put the email in writing to [Email Removed] which I duly did immediately. To date I have had no response. The incident occurred on Saturday 12 Dec at around 13:30 but I emailed on Monday morning after speaking to Mr Lottering.
I was assaulted on Saturday afternoon by the security guard at the Lynnridge Mall Bakers Bin. I arrived just before the shop's closing time to find the temporary entrance closed. When I indicated to the security guard that it was not yet closing time I was ignored. When he opened the door for other clients, I walked past him at which point he grabbed my arm and yanked me out of the shop yelling get out get out! I immediately rang the manager of the shop about the incident. He made me wait outside the locked shop for several minutes before coming to speak to me. His excuse was that the shop was closed. When I asked him if it was standard procedure to physically assault clients, he blamed me for entering when the shop was closed (which was before 1:30 by my watch) but that it wasn't usual procedure to assault clientele. When the security guard started shouting at me again, the manager said that the matter was becoming too loud and would have to be dealt with on Monday. There was no apology or help offered even through I was visibly shaken.
I have since emailed both Bakers Bin and The Lynnridge Mall Centre Management and have received no response.

Yours, disappointed,
Sam Brown
