We purchased a Lexus NX 250 last year, expecting the premium build quality and service that the brand is known for. Unfortunately, we have been dealing with excessive cracking and rattling sounds coming from the centre piano-black trim since early on. The issue was reported to our local Lexus service centre more than a month ago. Since then, we have submitted numerous videos clearly demonstrating the problem, yet there has been no clear diagnosis, no resolution, and no meaningful feedback on how or when this will be fixed. For a vehicle costing over R1 million, this level of interior noise and the slow response from customer support is unacceptable. The most frustrating part is not just the defect itself, but the ongoing lack of urgency and communication. We purchased Lexus specifically for its reputation for quality and customer care. At this point, both have fallen far short of expectations. We are posting this publicly in the hope that Lexus South Africa will take ownership of the issue, provide proper technical feedback, and resolve the problem without further delay.
We bought an inverter and battery from them before moving down to the coast because we wanted to be sure we'd get service if something went wrong in the future since the system is quite expensive (more than R40k). After spending all the money on having the system installed in the new home we found that the inverter is faulty. A brand new unit that I transported in my OWN vehicle to ensure that it wasn't damaged is faulty out of the box. Unable to get hold of them telephonically and having to communicate via email where it takes 2 days to get any kind of response from them they advised us we need to log a return. Logged a return and DAYS later no pickup yet. Then we still need to wait for them to send the unit in to the supplier which judging by how long the process has taken thus far will be 7 - 14 business days, then another 7-14 business days for the supplier to get back to them and then depending on the outcome probably another 7days to get the unit here. I won't recommend GeeWiz and definitely won't be supporting them in the future. I've gotten great service from them in the past but it looks like they're unable to support their customers.
We've had such a disappointing experience with this product and supplier. The product kept making bubbles and pealing and after having to take it back to be re-done 4 (if not more) times and being stuck without our Ranger for 1 - 2 weeks each and every time, we decided to rather have it removed. After leaving the bakkie for a week and coming to pick it up we're HORRIFIED at what this coating, application and removal has done to our vehicle. Rowan (the owner) also doesn't take responsibility for absolutely anything, from the rubbers that we're gashed while removing the coating to the clear coat that has been stripped away and the paint that has been damaged all over the vehicle, the chrome detailing on the side has also been broken and needs to now be replaced. The photos don't even show the dents that we are left with as they probably tried to tear the coating off and applied too much pressure on the body. It's hard to capture the extend of the damage on the photos. It looks like somebody has taken out ALL of their anger and frustration on our R600 000 PLUS vehicle. We really wish we had NEVER done this. We basically have to take the bakkie in to have all the damaged repaired at our own expense. Rowan just keeps on telling us that it's not his product and that our bakkie that we have had SINCE NEW has been "resprayed" hence the damage. I will NEVER support him or his business/franchise again, refer anyone or encourage anyone to even make use of this product. Absolutely disguising service and quality. They charge and arm and a leg for a product that doesn't even stick and then ruin your car with removal. Now we know why he insisted on re-doing it each time instead of stripping (to cover up the extensive damage)
