I recently discovered that Discovery Bank had opened a transmission account in my name. The account has been open for several months and has accrued fees. I phoned Discovery Bank and was told that I would need to pay the outstanding fees in order to close the account. I never signed up for this account nor do I want it. It's of absolutely no benefit to me at all. The consultant said that I had approved the opening of the account and that he would go through the records and find proof of my acceptance and then get back to me that afternoon. I never heard anything more from him. Incidentally, I'm not sure if it's the norm at Discovery Bank for consultants to use profanity in their conversations with clients?
This company sells counterfeit supplements which is extremely dangerous! I ordered from them and received a container with **** labeling and incorrect barcode. I checked with manufacturer who confirmed that it was a counterfeit product. When I contacted them for a refund I discovered that they also have a **** address and phone number. They also run another website called vmglobalbrands.co.za which also has **** details.
I've been very happy with the way PSG has handled my investments. Feels like my money is in safe hands. They're knowledgeable and helpful.
Had to make a claim after 9 months so I was still in the waiting period but I claimed because it was for a recent condition subsequent to my taking out the policy. Stratum however insisted it was pre-existing. I've decided to cut my loses and cancel the policy. Maybe they're fine once you've been with them after 12 months (I can understand that they don't want to pay out to newly signed up clients) but after this experience I don't want to risk it.
I have been trying for a week to get feedback on a claim. I was told to contact the assessor and have been phoning his number since Tuesday last week. He sent messages promising that he would phone back but hasn't done so. He has also not responded to my email. Likewise the call centre promised to get back to me but hasn't. Discovery Insure has been happy to take my premiums over the years but the first time I make a claim I get no service. It has been left to me to waste a great deal of time waiting in long phone queues to your call centre begging for service to no avail. The lack of communication is appalling and shows a total disdain towards customers.
I'm so impressed with Checkers Sixty60. Fast, easy and efficient service. Products arrived well packed and in good condition. I've recommended this to several people but some have said they have a problem registering their address even though they're in a deliverable area so this probably needs to be looked into.
An item was missing from my online order. I immediately contacted Woolworths and was told the refund would reflect in my account in 3 to 5 days. After a month I had still not received it so emailed Woolworths 4 times and never got any response. I have a friend who had the exact same problem and has been trying to get her refund for 2 months. I've since ordered from Checkers who offer a vastly better and more efficient online order service.
I have been with Discovery for many years and have Health, Life and Insurance policies with them. I also had a Discovery credit card which I recently cancelled. In the past I recommended Discovery to others and even got family to sign up. However their service and product has deteriorated to such an extent over the last few years (particularly since Discovery Bank was introduced) that I no longer have anything positive to say about them. It's such an unpleasant experience being part of Discovery that I plan to cancel all my policies with them. In the last few months they have cancelled all my Discovery miles, they have not paid device booster cashback and not paid my healthy food cashback as well as other issues with Discovery Insure. These are payments that they are obliged to pay as part of the "rewards" they contractually promise. I pay a Vitality fee and fulfill requirements to get these rewards, yet all they do is try to avoid fulfilling their obligations. I have contacted Discovery numerous times over the last 2 months trying to get these issues resolved. Each time I get told that they will get back to me yet this NEVER happens! The last call agent promised that she would contact me within 48 hours yet once again I have heard nothing. I have concluded that Discovery avoids accountability by just ignoring and frustrating clients until they stop appealing for help. What an immoral company! WILL SOMEONE FROM DISCOVERY GET BACK TO ME!!!?
