Two weeks or more ago, I complained to Woolworths, in their Complaints section, on their Webpage, that four rose plants I had been given as gifts over Christmas and February had, during that period, dropped their flowers (fair enough), but developed spider mite and that their leaves were dying off. I duly sprayed them with the specified spray as soon as I noticed the problem, but gradually plant by plant in each pot turned brown, dropped every leaf and died off. As I say, a couple of weeks ago, before any had actually died, I checked the Complaints section on their Website and reported the problem. I have not had a reply from them since then, not even an Acknowledgment. I find this scandalous as I can't be the only customer who has suffered this loss, and it's not as if each of these perennial plants (frequently gifts) have not suffered the same fate. Woolworths should be ashamed of themselves as they are supposed to be an expensive, but reputable, retailer.
Colgate have cut down on most of their toothpaste products. We are reduced to just a couple. Of course, the brand that suited e best has disappeared. Why do giant companies inevitably reduce their offerings, always leaving the less liked on the shelves?
Although we live in Marina Da Gama, I visit Tasha's in Constantia almost every week because my wife and I love a croissant and a cappuccino brewed fresh in our kitchen every morning. Because my wife is both elderly and very busy feeding our wild birds, a daily trip to Constantia is not an option for her. The result is I need to order more than one or two croissants at a time. It does not matter what time of day it is, the staff at Tasha's are never too busy or overwhelmed not to be polite and friendly, and even if they don't have the seven or eight croissants I order, they happily bake fresh ones for me to take home, never keeping me waiting more than the 45 minutes it takes to bake them afresh. Their products, including their coffee, are to be highly recommended, and even includes a wonderful view of Table Mountain if one is lucky enough to bag an outside table in their often-over-flowing establishment.
Street lights in Diedrikkie & Piet-my-Vrou Streets on all day, day after day, every day, week after week. Today, I eventually tried to phone to inform someone who could correct the problem. Got connected to three WRONG extensions, including a puzzled police person.
Phoned again. Told no one in the relevant dept was working today.
No wonder our rates bills go up and up!
And, did I hear someone say we are in the middle of a power crisis? What crisis?
We are also hearing noises about the public service workers threatening a strike if they don't get a preposterous wage increase. For doing what? Their jobs? Really?
