This firm sells attractive 'chests of drawers' made by Sisley. However the drawers are constructed without runners and once full, the handles are inadequate to pull them open. I wrote directly to Block and Chisel as absent runners are a cheap construction method for an expensive item; but instead of a reply, or offering a modification to the drawers; they are just sending numerous e-mail adverts for other goods.
On choosing a trolley the first one contained crumpled paper, the second one had cherries spilt into it and the third had a used facial tissue in it. I showed the manageress who said that the trolleys are washed in the morning and afterwards the customers soil them. She picked up the cherries in her hand and was clearly not going to take any further action. As this was at 10 a.m. on Saturday morning the trolleys had certainly not been washed this morning. This is unacceptable and a policy needs to be instituted for the managers to follow.
