I would like to formally lodge a complaint regarding the conduct and unprofessional communication of a healthcare worker registered with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I recently received the following message from this individual: "Ohh and you did well by losing that baby of yours, I hope you keep losing them." I find this statement deeply disturbing, emotionally abusive, and entirely inconsistent with the ethical standards, compassion, and professionalism expected of a healthcare professional. The message references pregnancy loss in a cruel and malicious manner, causing significant emotional distress. The healthcare worker involved is Dr. Nonkululeko Shezi, who is registered/practising as an Occupational The****** at a Helen Joseph hospital. I have further communication as evidence in support of this complaint. As healthcare practitioners are entrusted with caring for and supporting vulnerable individuals, I believe this behaviour raises serious concerns regarding professional conduct, ethics, and fitness to practice.
