I can actually not even rate Old Mutual for their service, because there is NO service. After receiving misleading advice from an Old Mutual advisor, we struggled from Dec 2025 to get them to pay out my husband's retirement annuities. Due to their poor service we decided to transfer the compulsory 2/3 amount to a more trusted insurance company. Despite numerous calls and emails, even to the CEO and Arbitrator, they did not have the decency to contact us. Eventually the 1/3 was paid out in bits and pieces, after they kept closing the case on their side without doing anything. Then we had to fight to get the 2/3 amount transferred to the other company and once again, we still have not received any communication from Old Mutual. We've sent an official complaint to the Arbitrator and cc'd the CEO on 16 and again 24 March 2026 where we set out our complaint in detail together with our expectations, and until today we haven't even had the decency of them acknowledging the complaint. Just silence from their side. I will never do business with Old Mutual again and will strongly advise other people to stay away from them.
I've never had issues regarding claims. Their reaction time is good. I'm very satisfied with my gap cover policy.
