*Disputed debt review consent and lack of transparency – The Debt Hero* I am raising a serious concern regarding my experience with The Debt Hero and their handling of my debt review application. When I was signed up, I made it very clear—multiple times—that I had only *13 payments remaining on my vehicle finance. I was told that my monthly instalment would be reduced by approximately **R800, which sounded helpful. However, I was **never informed* that this arrangement would extend my repayment term beyond the 13 payments I had left. Only afterward did I discover that my repayment period appears to have been extended, which was never properly disclosed or explained to me. My concerns are as follows: * I do *not believe I gave informed consent* to enter debt review under these terms. * I have repeatedly requested the *original onboarding call recording and/or transcript*, but this has not been provided. * I requested the *full consent audit trail* and proof that the extended repayment term was disclosed—this has also not been provided. * The Form 16 sent to me shows an electronic signature with an IP address listed as *127.0.0.1*, which raises questions about how my alleged digital consent was recorded and verified. * Despite multiple formal emails, I have only received generic responses saying my query has been “sent to the relevant department,” without any substantive answers. I have now formally disputed the validity of this debt review process and requested urgent clarification regarding: * Whether I have been listed under debt review with credit bureaus * Whether any court application or court order has already been obtained * Whether creditors have already accepted any restructuring proposals I have also lodged (or am in the process of lodging) a formal complaint with the National Credit Regulator. I am sharing this here in the hope that The Debt Hero will provide proper transparency, accountability, and the documentation I have repeatedly requested. Consumers deserve clear explanations and informed consent before being placed into legally significant financial arrangements.
