We booked The Tygervalley Escape expecting a comfortable and enjoyable getaway, especially given how beautiful and spacious the property is. Unfortunately, our stay was disappointing and far from what was promised. From Monday until Wednesday, there was no electricity at the property, which caused major disruption. This was never adequately communicated beforehand. As a result, we were forced to spend significant time out of the premises, including driving home just to be able to work when our laptop batteries ran out. We also had to sit in our car on multiple occasions just to charge our phones, and we incurred additional costs purchasing mobile data because there was no WiFi without electricity. The lack of power also meant the refrigerator was unusable. We had to go to the mall several times just to buy ice, and fresh food was impossible to keep. We even had to throw away items like watermelon, which we could not store properly. This added unnecessary expense and inconvenience to what was supposed to be a restful stay. It was also clear that no one inspected the property before our arrival. There was a noticeable ant infestation, mainly downstairs, and we had to kill ants ourselves on the first day. Although the issue improved after that, it should never have been left for guests to resolve.
