Recently purchased a ceramic desk lamp that when plugged in at home, immediately tripped pur power with a flash bang and filled our house with smoke endangering my 7 year old and husband and I (the child had plugged in the lamp). I immediately contacted customer care and provided images and proof with photos of our other burnt appliances and the lamp itself with fire damages, the wires and plug flew off! The incident is not the part that I am most upset about, it's the reaction and feedback received that somehow left me with an unsatisfactory and unpleasant experience. I was simply told to get a refund at my nearest store. No apology! No alarm, no promise to investigate the cause or inspect the rest of the batch. Does Sheet Street not value the safety of its customers? My child nearly got electrocuted and my response after reporting WITH RECEIPTS is to simply refund my R130 at my nearest store? Where is the humanity? We were absolutely traumatized by a product that should have worked out of the box not endanger our lives and your response is to get a refund? Very disappointed in how this was handled.
