I got Insurance with MiWay Insurance some time last year and insured a laptop that I got as a gift. I told them I didn't have much information about the laptop since I got as a gift and disclosed that Ididn'tknow the serial number. They did not have a problem with that infact they did not let me know that they had a problem of which if they did I would known then that it is important for me to have that. Moving on...the laptop got lost last week I called them to claim...the woman who was helping me with the claim said I should open a case which I did try to do and they told I cannot do that if I did not have the serial number. I called to inform her about that and she started saying things of coming over to my place and then to my workplace then to where the incident happened...I did not have any problem with that provided it happens on a weekend since I am working and not in a position where I can take day offs only for me to go to work with someone. With her coming to my place I felt uncomfortable because number 1 that is not where the incident took place so I could not understand and still don't understand the part where she has to come to my place. She then told me that she cannot do that on a weekend, I must be the one to take a day off from work so we can be doing all that. Again, I'm in no position to be getting day offs only for me to be showing up with people at work for them to see whatever they want to see, and how does it make sense for me to be absent work when she herself is at work? So basically I must toy with my job while she keeps hers safe? Unfortunately I was never born with privileges and cannot afford to lose my job so I called to tell them to cancel the insurance since they cannot help me in anyway. She sent me an email saying that I should sign for the withdrawal of the claim when I specifically said they should just cancel the entire insurance since they are not helping me with anything, she continues to send me things that make me go out of my way to fulfill them. What a daunting process this has become...If I knew this is how it was I would have never started it ay. The saddest part is that I have people that asked me about which insurance I use and told them about this one now I'm scared on their behalf that they'll be subjected to the same thing worse I'm the one who referred them. Anywho, I am very dissatisfied with how my claim was handled...but it's okay will probably buy another laptop but I don't encourage anyone to insure with this insurance.
A one star for the treatment I got today. Been buying meat here but I have not encountered any problems before. So we went to buy meat the previous Saturday and one of the products we bought was pork chops. The item was labeled as pork chops outside but turned out to be beef inside. I only realized that upon cooking. Please do take note that I do not know anything about meat, you can literally place different kinds of meat on the table and I would not be able to tell which is which. I called them and explained the situation and was given a number I should text. On the text I indicated that I only realized upon cooking that the meat was not pork and they said that I could return the product and they will exchange. So today my husband went to change the meat and was spoken to in a dismissive manner, being told that they do not take items that are opened, understandably so but whose fault was it in the first place that we did not get what we ordered?and how on earth was I supposed to know what kind of meat am I cooking when I do not know anything about meat?...I really love this butcher but the way they treat their customers??? So we were basically supposed to see it upon ourselves what we do with the meat even though it was not our fault?
I'm actually rating it negative zero... It's just that there's no option for that... 2 months ago they did not debit their money from my account as per agreement. Days passed without them debiting... I called to find out what was the reason for them not to debit the money, the response was that their system had a problem and they would call to discuss a payment plan since their system had a problem. 2 days later I received a call from their lawyers to say that I have been handed over and I was shocked because I am the one who called to find out what was the reason for them not to take the money but now suddenly I'm the one who's been handed over to the lawyers. Again I call and ask if is this how they work... They told me that they are even surprised that I got a call from the lawyers since an account can only be handed over after 3 months of not paying of which in this case it was not even my fault that they didn't debit the money, I am not responsible for their system having problems... So the person that helped me then then told me that I can settle the money in 2 months... The account had been in arrears and I told them that I am not going to pay for the arrears since I am not the one who actually caused this whole thing... Surprisingly the money keeps on increasing and now they are nolonger reachable on the phone... Now I want to understand, how did it happen that Marquis finance did not debit and I call to find out the problem only to be told that their system had a problem, called by the lawyers a few days later to say I have handed over and now I keep on getting emails to say my account is in arrears even after I settled the money and it was not my fault from the first place because I have nothing to do with systems having problems... Use them for financing anything at your own risk... Not a good company I must say... Very nonsensical
