Where to start we had so many troubles when moving in it was utterly ridiculous. Their agent felt bad for the previous tenant and gave his deposit back leaving us to fix a messy, beyond-dirty, and broken down house out of our own pocket. A place so dirty it took two days of intense cleaning just to make it livable (which by the way on the outgoing inspection the agent wrote "very neat and clean"). That was not the case as everything was dirty, paint was ripped off the walls, broken window, holes in doors and walls not to mention he destroyed the garden before moving out leaving us with a big muddy messy. This was apparently acceptable as he did not pay for any damages. We even had to buy a new remote and change all the locks seeing as he did not want to return the keys. It was an uphill battle moving into a place like that with no help from the agent at all. The agent informed us paint ripped off the walls does not warrant withholding the deposit and we were left to fix everything yourselves or live in a house falling apart. The agent made promises she couldn't keep, did not respond for days on end and when she did respond she was unprofessional and unwilling to assist us. After some time we tried to contact the agent and was responded with "I dont work there anymore". I had to ask Uniprop who our new agent would be seeing as they didn't even bother to inform me that our agent left. We had a new agent who did one inspection and also left the company (that says alot). The third agent we had explained that our first agent messed up that she did not do her work, was unprofessional and basically explained that most of the things she did was incorrect, incomplete and that she was left to clean up her mess. The agent admitted fault on their agents end and said she will try and help us. Emphasis on "try" since she made our lives the past few months a nightmare. I have correspondence from the agent saying our previous agent did nothing there is nothing in our files and that our files are in a mess. She said they needed to use my photos I took with some of the inspections they could find in order to complete our outgoing inspection. None of the faults we informed our agent about was logged. So when it was time for inspection they tried to pin everything on us. Luckily I took pictures when moving in since our previous agent did not do her job we atleast had some proof that the house was left in a horrible state and that we were not responsible. However this did not matter, it got so out of hand trying to get our deposit back for damages we were not responsible for that we needed to show up at Uniprop Parkand with legal councel. The receptionist was beyond rude and unprofessional when talking to us. We tried to talk to the owner but that did not help seeing as the owner of the brach couldn't access our files because she is not our agent. I would think the owner would have access to all of their clients files but apparently uniprop does not think so. The owner was of little help and kept saying the company can not help if an employee messed up (which yes they can their employee their responsibility). She kept saying over and over again that she didnt mess up her employee did so we cannot blame them. After arguing back and forth about if the company is responsible for the work of their employees we decided to just fix the faults and get it over with in order for us to receive our deposit. They told us as soon as you fix the problems the deposit will be paid back, as you can imagine this was not the case we had to keep asking when we will receive our deposit seeing as they kept coming up with excuses that the money cant be transferred directly and that they had to move the money first. Finally I received a payment from them and it was not my full deposit (big surprise). Uniprop had more excuses about bills needing to be paid we waited and waited finally after emailing the receptionist, the agent, the owner and eventually head of finances we got one bill. We were told there would be another bill, again we waited and when the bill finally showed it was the exact same amount as the previous bill. By then we were moved out so having the same amount as when we lived there did not make sense. Again we were told sorry a fault on their end they sent us the same bill (highly professional I know). Finally after waiting.... again we are finally done with Uniprop after almost 2 months of struggling to get our deposit back. They are so unprofessional it is really a joke from the owner that knows nothing about their clients and cannot use her own braches computers to look up files to the agents admitting to faults in the company as well as admitting to mistakes made by other agents. I would never in my life work with Uniprop again and anyone who asks I will tell them to do the same. Never in my life have I seen a business so unorganized and unprofessional that legal councel is needed to return a deposit. Do youself a favour and go to ANY other agency than Uniprop. They couldn't even spell my name right on our forms even after I corrected it every month for 3 years... PATHETIC!
