Be very careful when renting a vehicle from Tempest. If you receive a traffic fine, they charge an additional R405 administrative fee on top of the actual fine amount. While their six-page terms and conditions (printed in extremely small font) do mention that an administrative fee will be charged for fines, they do not specify that the fee is R405. I was also provided with a lengthy explanation of the various actions they claim to take when a fine is issued on one of their vehicles, much of which sounded like legal jargon designed to protect their interests. My advice is simple: if you hire a vehicle from them, make sure you read the "fine" print carefully and understand all potential additional charges.

During a visit to Food *****s Market in Greenstone, I was disappointed to find that two of my purchases—the White Vinegar and Cadbury’s bars—were incorrectly charged at higher prices than those advertised in-store. Although the difference amounted to only R30, this raised concerns about the accuracy of pricing on other items for myself and other shoppers and is a serious point of principle. While the manager authorised a refund, there was no apology for the inconvenience, and the staff instead focused on questioning the till operator. This experience leaves me hesitant to return to this store.
Place order for 2 items on the 3rd Jan , I was then informed othat the one item was not available in the colour I chose and I accepted the alternative. On the 13th Jan I finally received a delivery and only one item was delivered. No explanation from either the transporter or Tendayonly(this is their new nickname as they always take ages to deliver. I contracted tendayonly yesterday and received an answer today blaming the transporter and stating that they decided to split the delivery and stating that it "should" be delivered today.
The quality of the Checkers plastics bags are absolutely appalling and they have the gall to charge R1.20 each. I bought 2 liters of milk in one bag and the handle snapped as I placed the bag into my car. I did not go back in to complain as I was in a hurry and generally service is very slow in their stores. The idea of charging for bags is to ensure they are reused and not just trashed. Unfortunately what we receive is trash. Time to move to another store.
We had a burst geyser and within 5 days Outsurance organised the fiting of a replacement geyser, as well as repairs to ceilings and walls. This was superb and very welcome service from the agent Phumzile Nkosi of Outsurance and the company that carried out the repairs (Starplex Maintenance) on their behalf. Well done to you all.
We had a burst geyser and the service and quality of workmanship from Starplex Maintenance was outstanding. I was kept informed of progress throughout the process, and the completed work of both plumbing and building repairs was of a very high standard. Kudus to them.
I had a data line and a voice line with vox. I moved premises and so cancelled my data line at the end of June. For some unknown reason, vox cancelled both my data line and my voice line. These were on two serperate accounbt numbers so I cannot understand why they messed up so badly. I have been in contact with them via cell phone calls and emails since the 2nd of July with no joy. It is now the 22nd July and I still have no voice line which is my business line. vox Service is Shocking
I am always so disappointed in Huletts white sugar. 9 times out of 10 it is lumpy and hard no matter where I buy it from. Something is wrong with their packaging or processing I have never found this with other brands of white sugar, even the house brands at Pick n Pay, Checkers and Spar. THEY MUST BE DOING SOMETHING WRONG.
I had an unfortunate situation with takealot. Placed an order for an item which stated 5 to 7 working days delivery. When finalising the order and making my payment, the order was confirmed as delivery on the 8th day. 1 day might not seem like an issue, but I needed the item to be delivered on the 7th day (a Friday) for a function on the Saturday, but the item would only be delivered on the Monday. Unacceptable. They do not meet what they promise - take care. I have called them to rectify or cancel and await the outcome.
