I visited a dentist over 2 months ago. I had my co-payment ready as Bankmed hadn’t paid in full for the previous procedure. I got to the receptionist after my procedure and they said medical aid in full so I can go. I wasn’t convinced so I waited for my statement and indeed Bankmed confirms they have paid for everything. Two months later the dentist sends an invoice for over R2000 that Bankmed paid and reversed payment without bothering to even call or email to explain what happened. Now I have to pay for an unplanned expense when I could have done that months ago. Unfortunately my employer makes me use Bankmed and I have to continue to use it. If you want inconvience and poor communication, choose Bankmed. No consideration for their member whatsoever.
My insurer rented out a car for me from Europcar. I returned the car with a fuel tank but was charged refuelling fees. I reached out to Europcar for assistance and showed them my receipt for the refuel. They acknowledged this and sent a statement with a refund for the incorrectly charged refuelling fees. It’s been over two weeks and I still haven’t received my money. I have reached out to their branch several times and keep getting empty promises.

I was involved in an accident in January 2022 and my car was in a write-off state. I made a claim and was advised that an assessor would assess my car and give feedback after a week. I never got any feedback regarding the assessment of my car. The next week, I received a call from a Panel beater who said they were chosen to fix my car. Auto and General and the panel beater never told what the outcome of the assessment was. My car stayed with the panel beater for a month with no repairs being done. The panel beater kept saying that they could not get parts for my car. I made various complaints about this and asked Auto and General to write off the car. They however decided to move the car to another panel beater instead who also had problems getting parts for a month. The panel beater eventually got the parts and started repairs. Midway through the repairs, the panel beater told me that were experiencing some problems fixing the car because the car was in a write-off state. The panel beater eventually completed the repairs and told me to collect the car. After a week of driving the car, I started experiencing problems. The car broke down and would not start, and the steering wheel locked. I had it towed back to the panel beater and they changed the battery. The car was fine for a while then broke down again while I was driving home from the panel beater. I had to have my car towed home since it was already dark and the panel beater was closed. I called Auto and General and told them what happened but they refused to help with towing my car back to the panel beater. Now my car is sitting at home and I have to use bolts to travel to work and this is very expensive. I feel let down by the service I have received and at this point, I would just like to have the car written off as I can see that it is going to give me endless problems. I still do not understand why Auto and General forced the car to be repaired instead of being written off. I feel unsafe in that car and I do not think I will be comfortable driving it even if it is taken back to the panel beater.
