I placed an online order for my daughters Christmas gift from Game's Online Store on 22 December which was accepted and paid for in full with my bank card for R11 000. Shortly before 16:00 on the same day was I informed that the item was out of stock. I was then advised that the refund would take 7–14 working days. (I only received the refund on 5 January 2026) As a result, R11,000 (not exactly small change) was unavailable to me at a critical time, leaving me unable to purchase a Christmas gift for my child. This caused significant distress, particularly given the timing and the expectations created by the confirmed order. Unfortunately, this experience highlights a serious issue with online stock availability, order confirmation, and delayed communication on the part of Game. Accepting payment for goods that are not available and only notifying customers hours later creates avoidable financial and emotional harm. This review is shared to reflect my experience and to highlight the need for stronger stock control and communication, especially during high-volume periods such as Christmas. Game I expect compensation for the agony and emotional turmoil you put my family through. You are the Grinch who stole the Christmas Spirit from us

During my stay at Claro Clinic 17/1/2022, the parent of a patient was called in on a Sunday Evening at around 8pm to collect his sons cellphone. A fight broke out between father and son and the father fired 4 gunshots at close range at his son while patients were trying to stop the fight. One of the shots were fired through his sons face. According to The nurses the shot was not fatal, but the patient was not allowed back at the clinic. There is no security at the clinic, but only on that night after the incident, they employed the services of a security guard. When the management addressed the patients the following day, they brushed the traumatic experience as “the incident” and tried to downplay it. When I asked what the way forward wrt security at the clinic, their response was “we looking into it. Up until the day I left there was still no security there and I spent my supposed rehab/the****utic stay as a scared and vulnerable person and not once did I feel safe at that clinic
I have had a vehicle claim since May 2021. All the damage on The vehicle was not repaired as this was an oversight on the assessor. I have been struggling since May 2021 when I collected my car at the panel beaters to get discovery to approve the additionals and get my vehicle booked in to have it repaired. It has been authorised and now discovery comes back to me to tell me that I only have 4 days left of my Avis car rental. This is after spending over R1000 in phone calls to discovery in the past 6 months and over 30-50 minutes of my time with each call. We pay over R10500 per month on our discovery products and this service is absolutely ****. Pls do not even consider discovery insure as a possible insurance option. They have the absolute worse service ever! I am beyond upset!!!
This is my 5th time writing a review on the same issue. Discovery has made no effort to call me back. They only interested in taking your money and don’t care about follow up service. My car is still damaged even after 4 months and because I live close to the sea I am concerned that it will start rusting.
I bought a pair of silver earrings at the lovisa blue route store. I have been wearing them for over a week only to find that they are not silver and are turning green and the “silver” is peeling off. This is not acceptable as the silver jewellery does not come cheap! I am extremely disappointed Lovisa! What a waste of money and embarrassment for me as someone had pointed out that my ears and earrings were green!
I am still waiting for discovery to sort out my motor claim from may 2021. I have wasted over R700 in phone calls trying to sort this out. They a waste of time only interested in your money!
This is my 3rd time writing a negative review regarding the same claim with discovery insure. It is nearly 6 weeks later and my claim for building and contents has still not been completely finalised. I have been begging my claims consultant Palesa to call me back, but she makes me a fool and deliberately refuses to call me back. I have sent numerous emails but she is not interested in replying. We pay discovery well over R10000 every month in premiums for various products we have with them, and to get this horrendous service from a call centre consultant who obviously has no ambition in climbing the corporate ladder is not on! I expect discovery to take steps to ensure that the relevant people face disciplinary action. I also have a vehicle claim dating back to May this year. When I collected my vehicle at the panel beaters I noticed that a part of my vehicle was not repaired. I have been given the run around by discovery and still my vehicle is not repaired. What the heck is happening to you guys! I am looking at options and will take my money to another company who will actually give me proper customer service. Your service/claims consultants think that they are doing us customers a favour, whereas it is our premiums that ensures your salaries are paid every month. Stop the laid back attitude discovery and educate your workers on the importance of proper communication with your clients.
This place is such a dump. They claim to be a 4 star rated hotel. The rooms are smelly because of carpets that are not being cleaned. The furniture is falling apart. The free breakfast is an absolute joke for a 4 star establishment. The fresh fruit juice served is some kind of mixed cordial. The coffee is not even filtered. At almost R2000 p/night this is an absolute rip off. I wanted to warm a meal for my daughter and there is not one microwave on the premises. There is no going the extra mile. I requested a room upgrade, which I was prepared to pay for and out of the 4 days we spent there, I enquired constantly about a upgrade because mine and my daughters allergies were going crazy and just needed a door to open which would’ve helped. There were rooms available but we did not hear anything from front desk. The only thing good about this place was the natural hot mineral pools, which is a miracle of nature and the caledon hotel cannot take any credit for. We wasted our money on a getaway that made us so homesick. I will never go back and will encourage everyone I know on every social media platform to stay away. Tsogo sun should be ashamed to have this hotel as part of their group! This place disgusts me
I lodged a building and household contents claim for a burst valve from our geyser on 2 July 2021. Discovery despatched plumbers about 14hours after I lodged the claim, bearing in mind that my house was flooded. This same plumbers then promised to be back to fix the geyser on 4 different occasions and didn’t pitch and on these days I had to take time off from work to be home. They didn’t call to apologise for not coming and discovery consultant didn’t do anything to resolve this. Almost a month later I still have a geyser which is not working. I then got my own quotes to have it repaired and discovery has eventually authorised payment. I have just had a call from a service provider assigned to fix resultant damage, but was not advised by discovery that they had assigned people to fix it. I do not want discovery’s unreliable service providers at my home because I have no faith in them. I have sent my own quotations through only to find out that discovery has already authorised this company and cannot cancel with them if they had purchased the material already. I have requested for my claims consultant Palesa to call me back on many occasions and she never does. I am beyond frustrated
