This guy was briefed (and paid for the initial consultation), then failed to attend to the matter, which was urgent. After following up a couple of times in desperation, he kept stalling and giving conflicting advice ("do nothing", "refer them to me", etc.). Then said he couldn't proceed on the matter because he needed payment in advance. To avoid even further stalling, since this seemed to be his modus operandi, I paid him twice the amount invoiced. He still didn't attend to it and after a few more days it became clear that he hadn't even read the documents. I terminated his brief, after which he begged me not to do so, and to let him help me! Instead of refunding me for my overpayment, he sent me an invoice for even more than I'd already paid him! Each follow up call and email, stalled reply, even the resending of documents already sent, and the request for his account details which were left off the invoice, was charged for. As well as charging for "attending" to documents, etc. which it seems he had done finally - but only long after I'd terminated his brief! I reverted with every detail (calls, correspondence, times, etc.) and calculated the refund that I was owed. He undertook to attend to payment, then claimed a death in his secretary's family for the delay! Then he asked if he couldn't take the matter up again! By then my case had been lost and he had provided absolutely no assistance. He then, instead of refunding me, said (on email) that he would just write off the amount owed by me! I could not believe the incompetence and lack of ethics of this guy. Then, nearly a year later (!) he threatened to sue me for the outstanding balance! It costs him nothing to sue someone (the letter was sent by an intern!), knowing that such a case for a trifling amount is not worth defending. Again, a complete abuse of his position as a lawyer and lack of ethics. In the words of George Bernard Shaw - "never wrestle with ***s: you both get dirty and the *** likes it". Stay away from this place.
Very helpful, quick and efficient movers. We had a part-load to move at short notice from Stellenbosch to Jhb and they were super friendly - and excellent.
Roger installs these fans with his son as a sideline - he works for Solent. He passes himself off as an expert installer with years of experience. He gave us terrible advice when we wanted a wall mounted switch rather than a remote - he said it was impossible without sticking lengths of trunking on walls and ceilings. He then did a terrible job installing this dog’s breakfast all over our apartment. He sent another electrician to fix it - who pulled cables and connected the fans without any trunking. But ripped up our paint and plaster when taking off Roger’s trunking. We now have to replaster and repaint the whole house thanks to Roger the “expert”. And the new electrician did the job perfectly and neatly in half the time! Very bad experience with ***** Roger.
Bought a new MacBook Pro 13 Inch for my son's use. Terrible in-store service at Sandton Drive. Two days later there was something loose inside. Returned it to the store but was told they couldn't exchange it but had to take it in for 10 days to see if it wasn't tampered with. My son had exams and couldn't do this - he was told to just use it like that, with the rattle inside! A few days later I went with him to another iStore and was told the same story, but was told that he could get a loan machine - but from another branch. He exchanged the new one for the loan machine. Ten days later he was told that they would repair the laptop but that they did not have the spares, which had to come from Apple in Europe!!! I do not want a repaired laptop when I buy a new one. I was referred to a third party to "escalate" my complaint. I demanded an exchange or a refund which is my right in terms of Section 56 (2) of the CPA. They have not reverted and I am still without the new machine I bought more than a month ago. This is so shocking that it is criminal - they are acting in dereliction of the Act.
123NET installed internet services to several units in our block of flats. When asked to neaten up their installation, they did so - it revealed that most of the offending cables were in fact put in by other service providers. In addition, they provided the building with complimentary WiFi in certain common areas as well as security surveillance for our building manager. This exceeded our expectations. Their installation was prompt and very much appreciated. Thank you 123NET Umhlanga Rocks!
