Charged for Internet I Did Not Receive – MetroFibre’s Unfair Billing Practices
I have been a MetroFibre customer for over 10 years, but the service has deteriorated badly. MetroFibre has changed its payment policies in a way that appears designed to benefit the company at the expense of customers. Even though I pay by debit order, my service is cut immediately when there is any payment issue — with no warning or communication — yet they still demand full payment for the period when the service is disconnected and not provided. This effectively means customers are expected to pay for something they did not receive, which feels deliberate and unfair. I work from home and study online, and last year my daughter was doing her matric, so being without internet caused serious disruption — yet MetroFibre showed no concern. I have been trying for over a week to get assistance and have been completely ignored. There is no accountability, no communication, and no effort to resolve the problem. Based on my experience, I cannot recommend MetroFibre to anyone who expects fair billing, transparency, and basic customer service.
