My friends and I decided to do a road trip yesterday from Durban to MacBanana as it was my friends 21st birthday and she wanted to celebrate there. Upon arrival everything was fine we visited the coffee shop to cool down and pick an activity. We went to purchase tickets for paint balling, got geared up and we were so excited to go out into the field. Once we got ready there was another team waiting to go after us. We each had 150 paint *****. Firstly my gun stopped working twice and I missed most of the game cause the people in charge(a tall black male and a black female who was assisting) locked themselves out of the paintball area and the had to jump over the wall to get the key. There was an elder black male named Christopher who constantly were telling my friends to make it fast and insisting that we had no bullets left, until my friend had to come out and show him her bullets. It was quite frustrating to be rushed and told every 5 minutes to hurry up as we were not even in for 30 minutes and we purchased extra bullets so we could play for longer. It was also really hot and there is no time limits in paint ball, however because the group after us was larger we were told that we were taking to long. A few minutes we shot the targets to empty our bullets and headed to get our gear off. My friend asked Christopher why he was rushing us as we were also paying customers like the next group, his attitude was horrific, he was yelling at us saying that he never said we didn’t pay and so on, he turned to my friend saying that he looked familiar and that my friend has complained about him before and given him a bad image, we explained to him that it was our first time there and he still insisted telling my friend that he left a bad image of him. My friend got upset because all this was happening infront of the next group of people which consisted of several people as well as the 2 previous helpers. I tried to diffuse the situation and spoke to Christopher in a very calm manner, I told him to give me the same respect and not yell, but he still screamed at me, before matters got worse I took of my paint ball jacket and left it on the table so we could leave, Christopher took my jacket and threw it on the floor. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect, it is unacceptable! I was furious, I asked him why he did this and he said it was dirty, I screamed back at him and told him his behavior is pathetic, that’s not how you treat people. I told him I would lay a complaint about him and he told me to do so. The argument got really heated and I took off the pants, got my belongings and walked away before it got worse. My boyfriend who was much more calm than me, tried yet again to speak to Christopher in a calm manner, which didn’t work, we all just left frustrated & in shock at the level of service we received. We spoke to the manager Jaco and the security officer on duty who apologized a number of times for our bad experience, Jaco told us he would give us feedback about this matter after he spoke to Christopher. An hour later he texted us that the matter was resolved and apologized again, but he didn’t tell us how it was resolved. I will most certainly not be returning to MacBanana and neither will my friends. Traveling 4 hours to be humiliated in front of strangers is not what we signed up for. I am very disappointed.
