MJ Sport sunglasses repaired by the Maui Jim supplier. Customer service beyond measure. A strong belief in the product. Interaction with staff professional and a pleasure. Can't sing their praises enough.
Be very wary of Makro Online purchases. A lot of the products offered are under the Makro banner (Makro invoice) but are supplied and shipped via a third party. We purchased two bar stools recently. The first sign was the packaging which was substandard with lots of tape holding a used box together. The parts inside were clearly a previously returned item and some parts were missing. We returned the item on the same day three weeks ago and still waiting for a refund. Apparently the third party has to make an assessment and then authorise the refund. And so Makro Online is far from what you might think if you are lead to believe that it's under the banner of Makro. This is our first experience of Makro Online and it will most definitely be our last.
Beware of pricing at this dealership whether servicing your Nissan or simply buying parts. I enquired this morning regarding price on brake pads front and rear for my Pathfinder and the total came to R3455. On enquiry at two other Nissan dealerships the price was R2540. CMH Nissan therefore 36% more expensive on these parts.
The pricing of goods at this nursery is way out of kilter. I have lived in the area for many years and stopped visiting this outlet because of price. I called recently to get a price on a bulk pack of suit blocks (for garden birds). It turns out that their price per suit block is R55. The average price around town per suit in a bulk pack is R30! Pricing of other goods in the shop is along the same lines. Why would one support such a business?
We arrived at Home Affairs Randburg expecting to be pushed from pillar to post. Just the opposite happened. Friendly and helpful. Applied for two passport renewals and three smart ID's. We did the online application before heading off. Unfortunately we did not do this correctly as multiple applications need to be done as a once off. The ladies attending to us noticed this and made the necessary changes. The extended hours helped hugely so thank you for that. Some people did get irritated but that was due to them not having what they needed. Take cash. The card machine does not work for some banking institutions .
Compliment and criticism. As a family we have enjoyed our Nissan Pathfinder for the last nine years. The brand produces reliable, functional and interesting cars. If one is in the market for a new car, Nissan would certainly be worth considering. However, be aware of one thing.....the cost of parts is astronomically high, to the point that it is definitely a consideration when purchasing a new vehicle. Two examples worthy of mention, the latest occurring just a few days ago. I replaced the top stop light about a year ago due to some of the LED's being faulty and not working. A fairly minor part I thought but at a cost of R7500!! Recently I needed to change the rubber seal around the drivers door. Two independent dealers quoted me R3300 (not fitted)!! Fortunately I found a reputable company that had the exact seal that I needed. The cost was R270 fitted. And so this discrepancy in price is a good example of how ridiculous part pricing is at Nissan. One can expect to pay a premium for genuine parts and I would but R3300 for a door seal...REALLY!
Cape Town Fish Market Hemingways East London. The setting and service quite acceptable and looked forward to an evening meal. I ordered the calamari and hake combo with veg on the side. The food was okay but it reminded me a little of Fishaways in that portions were relatively small for what was been charged. And then to top it all the Coke Lite that was ordered arrived in a 200ml can at a cost of R23 on the bill! Restaurants are battling for business these days and it amazes me how little attention is being paid to value for money. Not such a big deal but at the end of the day they won't be seeing me again. Do businesses not get this?
Approximately a week ago I called the Nando's customer care line to lodge a complaint regarding the Bryanston Nando's drive through. No joy there. In response to a hellopeter post recently, a lady by the name of Mzaki called me from customer care and left a message on my voice mail on Wednesday and Thursday (I was out of the country). I called her back today (Friday). The interaction was lacking to say the least. She couldn't recall the fact that she had left two messages for me, was not au fait with the complaint and simply said that she would escalate it to the branch...what I was told two weeks ago. The customer care line seems to be managed as poorly as the Nando's Bryanston drive through.
One of the worst experiences that I have had. 45 minutes in the drive trough (which you cannot leave) before arriving at the first window. On collecting the order it was also wrong. I called the manager (Lucky) the next day and he was not interested. The Nando's report back line was just as ineffective. No response from them either. There are many other options in our area and we will be making use of these businesses rather. What I find rather baffling is that this has been a respected brand for us in the past. No longer.
This product is well designed, innovative, a little overpriced but generally value for money. However, buy an incredible car and then discover how frustrating it is when half the time you stop off at a filling station and they can't supply the fuel needed to run your car. This has been my experience at Twisp Nicholway. 50% of the time this outlet does not have what I need - new product (Cue) tobacco pods - simple really. Final straw for me. There are other devices out there that are as good, are cheaper and have stock! How to **** a winning formula.
