May I use this esteemed platform to recommend South African ISP, Afrihost. I clearly remember the Saturday 11:00 p.m. in January of 2012 when, extremely frustrated by our ISP then for throttling the connection to oblivion, I dared to contact Afrihost only to find them wide awake and on usual duty, ready to activate our first connection immediately. We are still using this connection, but have since easily added 20+ connections. At times, newer management opted for other ISP's for our additional requirements. Be assured that those connections have all been migrated over to Afrihost. Some of the reasons for staying with Afrihost are: 1. Diligent, timely invoicing is a bookkeeper's dream 2. Super contactable, even in the dead of night 3. Affordable prices 4. No throttling, within a large fair use policy 5. Wise management is directly involved in affairs; we experienced their just adjudication again in a recent misunderstanding. 6. Just remember, I assume not all their staff are trained to IT-Enterprise standards. Just be patient and kindly escalate if need be. There is always a techie available. 7. So many options, easy to change 8. No lethal, never-ending contracts with small print. What you see is what you get. Sometimes you get even more than what you see, according to our experience, such subtle allowances in our favour. We are priviledged, thanks.

I wish to recommend Messrs. Mobile Signal Booster for trustworthy service and a great product. Since moving into another home in countryside we found mobile signal strength between nothing and 1 bar, causing no comms or dropped calls and no One Time Pins from bank. After easily, plug and play, installing our entry level booster we immediately have 5 bar signal throughout the house. Delivery were secured by their choice of proper courier. Superb results. And wait for it: they cater for wheelchairs and occasional home service! Never ever had that before.
What a pity. I received great technical service from Telkom for a 24 months data contract. Every month I consistently enjoyed the full package of fast data as agreed. Monthly billing started months late and kept somewhat of a challenge, but tolerable once hours were spent figuring it out. But end of contract billing was such a mess, being overcharged, no invoice, web portal abruptly closed down, no explanation, nothing. Once bitten twice shy, 10x shy considering all the negative reviews.
Please allow me to alert you to this most useful locater products, locating and communicating with your elderly parents, children, and valuables. I am daily, since Sept 2014 (5 years of excellent service), using their Elderly Guardian for my disabled mother, mostly for service calls like come fetch me, how are you. It causes her to feel safe, connected, with help just a call away. It greatly enhances her quality of life. She only has to touch a button on the wris****ch, and when I call it answers automatically, all to allow 2-way voice calls. It has many more features. I find its highest quality and extremely economical since it uses cellular connection and no monthly subscription. Also, this company is contactable.
On 14 July 2018, I received SMS that I had been subscribed to Vrpartyhouse, also on 15 July that I will be charged. I immediately checked at *136*5# but could not find any content subscription. Of the R12 airtime I had, R5 was deducted each day from 15 July until depleted. Since I had not subscribed to this service I emailed MTN at ********** many times over to have this subscription canceled and my airtime returned. Even got a # number, but no action at all. I did not use the unsubscribe link in the SMS's received since we are repeatedly warned not to click on links in fake messages. Again, I did not subscribe to this service. There must be a flaw/mole in MTN systems to allow such automatic subscriptions without a definite Opt In. It should be clear that I cannot recharge this SIM until this fraudulent subscription is canceled. If not possible I will forfeit and get a new SIM and number.
