Budget insurance uses this furniture store in Gauteng to deliver Samsung TV to durban. What nonsense. New World promised to deliver 2 days ago and I paid the excess in advance. Poor, pathetic, and archaic service. Budget must modernise and allow client to purchase the TV in durban

At New World Menlyn, my encounter was exceptionally positive. When I called them regarding a CR6 SE 3D printer and requested they reserve it for me due to being two hours away, they promptly accommodated my request. Upon arriving and inquiring at the counter, I was greeted with a smile and felt genuinely welcomed. Their service was impeccable, scoring a perfect 10 out of 10 in my books. Furthermore, a staff member went out of their way to bring me a trolley without my needing to request one, which further enhanced my experience. I am more than willing to continue doing business with them in the foreseeable future due to the outstanding service I received

At New World Menlyn, my encounter was exceptionally positive. My Insurance company selected New World as their preferred supplier for my replacement TV, I guess because they are the cheapest, their products they sell are the cheapest as well. I received a TV from them and not even a month later the TV gave issues. This was all in April... we are now mid June and I still dont have a replacement TV. This service SUCKS!

My Insurance company selected New World as their preferred supplier for my replacement TV, I guess because they are the cheapest, their products they sell are the cheapest as well. I received a TV from them and not even a month later the TV gave issues. This was all in April... we are now mid June and I still dont have a replacement TV. This service SUCKS!

I had a disappointing experience with New World, making it the worst company to buy from. Like another reviewer mentioned, their products simply don't work. Let me share my own experience to illustrate why I hold this opinion. Recently, my daughter required medical treatment in Pretoria, and since we reside in Middelburg, we decided to purchase two Keyboard and Mouse Converters for my children's Xboxes. Prior to buying the converters, we explicitly informed the salesperson that we would return them after 6 weeks for a full refund, as my daughter had another medical appointment scheduled at that time. The salesperson agreed to this condition. We returned the products in their original packaging, with the plastic wrappings still intact and the items in pristine, new condition as when we bought them. The agent who assisted us took the converters to a manager, an Indian gentleman, who later informed us that there were scratches underneath the product. However, these scratches were only on the plastic wrapping and not on the product itself! They were presenting very aggressive behavior towards us. It became apparent to us that New World had sold us the product with the sole intention of profiting from us. We left the items in the store as requested, as they claimed they needed to test them. However, this occurred around 10 weeks ago, and we have not received any follow-up or a refund from them. It is highly frustrating and unprofessional. As a result of this terrible experience, I vow never to purchase anything from New World again. Furthermore, I find it disheartening that the Menlyn Mall management, who were supposed to address the issue, have not taken any action or provided us with any feedback. I strongly urge you to spend your hard-earned money elsewhere. New World has proven to be an unreliable and unsatisfactory company, and there are certainly better options available in the market.

New World Discount Stores was contracted by Discovery insure to replace items. Both items seem to be "Factory Reject" and one item, Defy Fridge, did not even work when it was delivered. When requesting that the faulty unit be replaced, they want to send a repair technician. Avoid this business like the plaque. From the other posts on hellopeter, this seems like the normal operation for this store.

Momentum bought me a Smart JVC 60" TV, with built in WIFI, Netflix, YouTube. The TV the bought me the WIFI doesn't work, it has an error of "DNS MULFUNTION". I reported the matter to the shop and I was assisted by an arrogant and stubborn guy called Thabang who didn't do anything about my complaint. Until I call in again I was assisted by gentleman called Lesego. Honestly Lesego he is trying his best to help me, i think the problem lies with the management of the shop. The guy he is trying his best, if he was the the store manger I hope he would have sorted me out long time. I am in the process of having the TV collected and New World must REFUND my insurance and my insurance will start over the process of buying me another TV somewhere else.
