I created a free account on MyHeritage and never subscribed to any paid plan or trial. Despite this, they repeatedly attempted to charge my virtual card for weeks. They eventually managed to bypass my security and successfully stole over R2,500 from my account—an amount that doesn't even match any of their standard subscription prices. This is blatant theft and *****ulent behavior. I have logged the issue and sent all requested information, but their support agents are unhelpful and take forever to respond. It’s been weeks with no refund and no clear communication. Avoid this site at all costs; they will take your money without consent.

🔴 MYHERITAGE AND PAYPAL: 14-DAY FREE TRIAL? NOT TRUE. EARLY BILLING? YES. SUPPORT? NOWHERE. I’m posting this because I have spent days trying to resolve an issue with PayPal and MyHeritage, and I’ve been left with no resolution, no support, and no fairness: 🔴 When I signed up with MyHeritage, they promised a 14-day free trial. ❗So where was my free trial for 2024 sign-up? They took the money on the same day I signed up. ❗Why did MyHeritage charge me two weeks earlier this year than they did in 2024—with no notice and no chance to cancel? ❗Why does PayPal allow a payment to go off on a different card—one I never approved for this transaction? They used my husband’s card (added once after mine was ******), without permission, just to get their commission—and then refused to help when I asked for support. This is not just unfair—it’s misleading. The promise of a “14-day trial” feels like a marketing trick, not a real policy. And when mistakes or misuse happen, these companies just protect themselves. Both PayPal and MyHeritage got their money. I'm the one left dry. ✔ I am no longer using the MyHeritage service ✔ I did not approve the use of my husband’s card ✔ I was denied the trial period I was led to believe I had 📌 Transaction ID: 9AA6261876160525L 📧 Email: [email protected] 📞 Phone: +27 81 374 1995 🔴 #NoFreeTrial #PayPalProblems #MyHeritageIssues #UnfairBilling #ConsumerRights #WeDeserveBetter

******* Ordered a kit in November 2024, nothing arrived. Followed the steps to query and their system ordered a new one, cos "it should have been there by now". New one ordered in January 2025, and now same problem. So they can easily take your money, they just can't deliver on their promises, and it's impossible to get hold of anyone, your only option is "Eve" their virtual assistant, who cannot deviate from the typical FAQ questions. USELESS

This is a *****ulent business - do not attempt to take out a subscription. The business is deliberately misrepresent their offering in a way to double charge their customers. I have agreed to an annual subscription amounting to $102 which was immediately deducted. Two weeks later, the exact same amount is deducted again, which upon further inspection is claimed to be for a “data package”. The mere fact that the amounts are exactly the same is testament to how they are *****ulently misrepresenting information to their customers to create a scenario where they can convince the banks/paypal that a customer have agreed to be charged twice, when in fact you under the firm impression that you are paying $102 once. This needs to be escalated to relevant regulatory authorities.

They are totally aware that their software is defective. It allows the creation of duplicate people without a simple way to merge these records. They allow selective merging of matches but not within trees. This sucks absolutely given how much I pay for my licence.

Myheritage deducted money despite me not agreeing to their terms and conditions. My account still shows that I am on the "Free Basic Plan" despite them having deducted money from my account.

Last year in September MyHeritage deducted R4200 from my credit card claiming it is for "subscription renewal" which I was unaware of and never approved by me. I immediately "unsubscribed" from "automatic renewal" on their website (that I was not aware of). On Friday, a year later, THEY DEDUCTED R2400 AGAIN! Also for subscription renewal. I attempted to contact them via email but am blatantly ignored. I have proof of email received last year that my subscription was cancelled.
