Not only when I cancelled I have to pay them extra money that they actually own me to be honest after they left me with thousands of hospital bills and I have been paying every month now they gave me over to advocates.

Broerderbond Medical Scheme. Mother was a member since 1989. The they she retired, Medihelp gave her a **** you attitude and demanded payment for cancellation of service, when she asked them whether her medical aid with them can be continued. Down with Medihelp, Down! You pieces of useless *******.

Ons is al vanaf 2009 (volgens lidmaatskap sertifikaat) lede (opsie: Medvital) van Medihelp en het nog altyd goeie diens ontvang. MAAR gedurende Feb 2026 is Mnr Human afgele by sy werk en is ons nou net afhanklik van pensioen. Ons moes sny op alle uitgawes. Ek het op 7 April 2026 'n epos gerig aan [email protected], die situasie verduidelik en versoek dat Medihelp ons tegemoet sal kom om na 'n laer opsie te verskuif. Die antwoord wat ons terug ontvang het was dat dit nie gedoen kan word nie. Ons moes dit glo al in Nov 2025 versoek het. Ons het nie in Nov 2025 geweet van die aflegging nie. Ek het ook weer telefonies met 'n konsultant gepraat maar die antwoord bly nee. Dit beteken ons moet bedank op die Medvital opsie en heraansoek doen vir die Medvital Elect opsie. Omdat ons al soveel jare lede is, was ons nog op die stelsel waar betaling van die premie aan die einde van 'n spesifieke maand is. Dit het verander om soos ander fondse vooruit te betaal. Dit beteken dat sou ons nou aansluit by die Medvital Elect opsie moet ons op 1 Junie twee mediese fonds premies betaal. Dit is nie finansieel moontlik nie. Ek hoop dat iemand in die Medihelp raad kan help met ons probleem.

I needed retina surgery at Garden City Clinic. It was urgent because i am blind in my right eye. I am on MedSaver non network which means i can go to any private hospital. Medihelp issued me with an authorisation number with a co payment of 35% . I spoke to a consultant at Medihelp who informed me that Netcare Garden City is not on their list for Retina surgery. This implies even if you on non network cover , certain operations can only be performed at certain clinics despite you paying for non network cover. I am a pensioner , now i have to pay an upfront fee to the clinic.

These guys is worse than loan sharks , they wont stop demanding cash for a canceled service which they even received the whole month cancellation notice for this was a clean brake from them everything was up to date owned them nothing and yet they keep saying the amount owned to them was for whole month... it was canceled and paid up to date not sure where they scratch this amount out off they did not let me know if anything was owed and outstanding first thing they did is run straight to Attorneys as this was there right now to receive cash for a membership that was ended in November even now they still threaten to blacklist . so i was nice and gave them the benefit of the doubt and gave them half of the amount they said i owed they did not deserve any penny of it as this service was canceled this is only ******ion to receive cash for a damaged ego after losing a member due to high costs and lack of service. just avoid them completely once you decide to leave them, they will start to think out what amount you must magically pay . the one statement they send me was i apparently owed them over 50k must be nice having such a nice magic rabbit hat coming up with that amount till date the only once that keeps calling me is there in pocket Attorneys they don't respond in any form

If I could give Medihelp zero stars I would. I left them end of last year and I am STILL finding out they basically covered NOTHING and am still paying since they cover nothing basically despite getting a substantial amount of money every month. These people are vultures and I encourage ALL my fellow South Africans to try BestMed, Discovery, literally anybody but Medihelp. They will take your money, your time and leave you basically for dead or worse. They abandon clientele and treat you with disrespect, condescending behavior and then you still pay. Medihelp should be avoided by the public and I regret staying with them as I am still covering their negligence to cover, to communicate, to assist and be of service. MEDIHELP IS A FAILURE! SAVE YOUR MONEY! Medihelp WILL RUIN your life! Be warned! ⚠️
