Dear Sir/Madam, I am writing to formally lodge a complaint regarding an incident that occurred at Mac Banana, KZN, on 22 February 2026 involving my granddaughter. While visiting the premises, my granddaughter was petting one of the ponies when the animal suddenly bit her on the arm, causing the wound to bleed. We immediately called for assistance as the injury required urgent attention. We were assisted by Mr. Wesley; however, his response to the situation was both dismissive and unprofessional. Instead of providing reassurance or appropriate first aid guidance, he responded arrogantly when we enquired whether a tet**** injection would be required. He stated that no medical attention was necessary because the animal was “more healthy than us.” Such a remark was highly inappropriate and unacceptable, particularly in a situation involving a distressed and injured child. Upon returning home, my granddaughter became unwell. Unfortunately, due to the late hour, medical facilities and pharmacies were not immediately accessible, which further increased our concern and distress. As parents and grandparents, we expect establishments that allow public interaction with animals to have proper safety measures in place, as well as trained staff capable of handling emergencies with professionalism, empathy, and urgency. The manner in which this situation was handled has caused us significant dissatisfaction and concern. We therefore request: A formal written apology from your establishment. A full investigation into the conduct of the staff member involved. Clarification on your safety protocols regarding animal interactions and injury management. This matter is serious, and we trust it will receive the urgent attention it deserves. We look forward to your prompt response. Yours faithfully, Jay Hemraj

Worst service from management ever so I ordered a beef curry pancake and when it came I was tasted it and it was horrible and it had water in it ,so I called the waiter and told him this is what's wrong with the dish and could he bring the chicken instead so he goes brings the chicken to my disappointment the chicken was over cooked tasted bland as ever and it leaves a sandy feeling on your tongue because of being over cooked so I called the waiter again and told him it's fine the curry isn't working can I have scrambled eggs instead with bacon to have with my pancake so has he is taking it back his fellow waiter tell him first take it to the manager so the manager arrives told what the problem was and guess what I was told that I am causing wastage to them that's 2 dishes now that they have to waste because I'm not happy with the food and the curry will have a sweet taste because of the veggies which I never found any veggies in the dish and I never said the curry was sweet I had correct her and said it's watery so she says you've asked for something else so I will have to charge you for 1 of the dishes that you have wasted and then charge you for the eggs and bacon so I said no how can I pay for something that I did not eat she said you must understand that we running a business and I am wasting 2 dishes, and i am the first person to have conplained abkut the foid out of 100 ppl and obviously i cannot expect it to be cooked like home style food (which wasnt the expectation but the food still should be edable).I had asked her if she would pay for something she has never eaten she said she cannot answer hypectical questions because she does not go out she preffers to cook her food at home so she cannot tell me what she would pay for or not .THIS IS THE FIRST TIME IN MY WHOLE LIFE I HAVE HAD SUCH UTTERLY POOR SERVICE FROM A MANAGER NONE THE LESS .JUST TO LET YOU KNOW MRS MANGER BY YOU *********** CUSTOMERS AND FORCING CUSTOMERS TO EAT FOOD THAT'S NOT EDABLE .WON'T GET YOU A PROMOTION BECAUSE YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO CUSTOMER SERVICE TRAINING AND LEARN HOW TO SPEAK TO CUSTOMERS BECAUSE YOUR APPROCAH GETS A ZERO AND YOU BRING A BAD NAME TO THE COMPANY YOU WORK FOR .👎 And if that wasn't enough this is the managers reply to my Google review Mac Banana ***ner) 11 hours ago Hi there If you did not enjoy the beef curry then you should have not asked for another curry (chicken curry) You should have opt for something different. Our curries are our best selling savory pancake. We actually have never received one complaint about them besides being to mild or to hot for some. We hope you have a great day further. All the best CLEARLY BAD CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE IS A NORM SO FOR THEM IF YOU DON'T LIKE IT THOUGH JUST EAT WHAT YOU GET BECAUSE IT'S FINE FOR US SO IT MUST BE FINE FOR YOU

What an amazing experience we had over the weekend. Went there 1 &2 October 2022 since we didn’t finish all the activities we hade hoped to do on the first day due to the fact that we arrived when it was almost closing time. The staff was very professional, patient and very helpful guiding us every step of the from choosing what activities to do all the way till the last activity done. The smile and humility was amazing. Well done to the team

We recently went to Mac banana to MacNifico pizza's. To our dismay, we paid R203 for 2 medium pizza's which were dry, small, looked like cat vommit and tasted like old, expired meat. They used frozen pizza bases and blobbed a chicken mayo concoction on it in sections. They were not professional at all. The ladies that worked the counter were ill-mannered and had very bad attitudes. I would never recommend this place. They do not deserve MY well earned money. I suggest that the manager pull up his/ her socks up and give this place a major face lift as well as change up the ingredients and quality of the food. The menu is horrible and the drinks menu is very limited. NO MILKSHAKES OR FRESH JUICES.... like what the heck. No way, dont waste your time.

What a total rip off. Pancakes are way overpriced and are dry, dry, dry, as they are very stingy with the syrup and toppings. The attitude of the manageress and owners daughter left a lot to be desired. We were all very disappointed with what was served to us and the fact that they charged us R15 for additional syrup and R3 for a take away container is totally ridiculous. They are trying to make out that they care about the environment and that is why they are charging for straws and take away containers – well if they cared so much, they would not pocket that money that they take for these items, but should rather donate these funds to some sort of environmental cause!!! Their food and service has gone way down in our books and we certainly will not be going back. We made the big mistake of not checking out their reviews before we went there – What a waste of money. Next time we bypass them and head for waffle house instead.

My friends and I decided to do a road trip yesterday from Durban to MacBanana as it was my friends 21st birthday and she wanted to celebrate there. Upon arrival everything was fine we visited the coffee shop to cool down and pick an activity. We went to purchase tickets for paint balling, got geared up and we were so excited to go out into the field. Once we got ready there was another team waiting to go after us. We each had 150 paint *****. Firstly my gun stopped working twice and I missed most of the game cause the people in charge(a tall black male and a black female who was assisting) locked themselves out of the paintball area and the had to jump over the wall to get the key. There was an elder black male named Christopher who constantly were telling my friends to make it fast and insisting that we had no bullets left, until my friend had to come out and show him her bullets. It was quite frustrating to be rushed and told every 5 minutes to hurry up as we were not even in for 30 minutes and we purchased extra bullets so we could play for longer. It was also really hot and there is no time limits in paint ball, however because the group after us was larger we were told that we were taking to long. A few minutes we shot the targets to empty our bullets and headed to get our gear off. My friend asked Christopher why he was rushing us as we were also paying customers like the next group, his attitude was horrific, he was yelling at us saying that he never said we didn’t pay and so on, he turned to my friend saying that he looked familiar and that my friend has complained about him before and given him a bad image, we explained to him that it was our first time there and he still insisted telling my friend that he left a bad image of him. My friend got upset because all this was happening infront of the next group of people which consisted of several people as well as the 2 previous helpers. I tried to diffuse the situation and spoke to Christopher in a very calm manner, I told him to give me the same respect and not yell, but he still screamed at me, before matters got worse I took of my paint ball jacket and left it on the table so we could leave, Christopher took my jacket and threw it on the floor. I have never in my life been treated with such disrespect, it is unacceptable! I was furious, I asked him why he did this and he said it was dirty, I screamed back at him and told him his behavior is pathetic, that’s not how you treat people. I told him I would lay a complaint about him and he told me to do so. The argument got really heated and I took off the pants, got my belongings and walked away before it got worse. My boyfriend who was much more calm than me, tried yet again to speak to Christopher in a calm manner, which didn’t work, we all just left frustrated & in shock at the level of service we received. We spoke to the manager Jaco and the security officer on duty who apologized a number of times for our bad experience, Jaco told us he would give us feedback about this matter after he spoke to Christopher. An hour later he texted us that the matter was resolved and apologized again, but he didn’t tell us how it was resolved. I will most certainly not be returning to MacBanana and neither will my friends. Traveling 4 hours to be humiliated in front of strangers is not what we signed up for. I am very disappointed.

On holiday in KZN south Africa Took the kids out for pancakes, we were seated indoors, the kids had not finished their meals, and pieces of dirt and sand fell into their plates and into their cups. I asked for one of the pancakes to be replaced, as they had already eaten part of it, replacing both (even though it would not have been an unreasonable request) seemed unnecessary. The management refused, offering us a milkshake instead, I declined the milkshake and said they could just remove one pancake from the bill, however they refused. I explained that the kids could not finish their meal or their drinks and I don’t think it’s fair for me to pay for the entire meal after bits of their ceiling fell in to it. The wait staff were apologetic, but the owner’s daughter was unhelpful, argumentative and rude. In the end, I paid for all the meals, and for half of the pancake I asked to be removed from the bill, just because it had been going on for over 2 hours, they had phoned their security company, and 6 armed guards were standing around. (obviously confused as to why they were called over a mum and granny dining with 2 little girls. It all seemed like it must have been a prank, but sadly it was not.
