Kia Diep River Disappointment

Kia Diep River lost my car key when my car was taken in for a service more than a year ago. Since then, I have reached out multiple times – both in person and via email and phone call, to request a replacement – I have even been in contact with the principal dealer. Unfortunately, I have been continuously ignored. Additionally, the spare car key I have been using has started causing issues with the car start up. The service (or lack thereof) that I have received is appalling.

APPALLING CUSTOMER SERVICE

I recently inquired about a vehicle listed by KIA Diep Rivier at R184,900. I submitted my documents after initially being assisted by Angelo, who seemed helpful at first. I was later informed I had qualified for financing—only to receive a quote for a completely different vehicle priced at R239,900 (R245,075 including extras). The new vehicle had different specs, a different engine (1.4 instead of 1.2), and a different colour. Without informing me, the dealership submitted a finance application in my name for this different vehicle. My credit profile was accessed—without my full, informed consent. The car I originally wanted was then removed from the website, but I had saved screenshots and details. When I reached out to Angelo Olivier for clarity, I was ignored at first, and when he finally responded, he blamed me for taking “too long” to send my documents. His exact words were: > "Hi Mongiwa. I understand your frustration, but unfortunately you took too long to send your documents. I've sent you the application on the 8th, we only received your documents on the 11th. The reason why we have used the other vehicle is because we wanted to get you mobile. So please understand I only tried to assist." This response confirms that: My documents were used for a deal I did not consent to. My credit profile was accessed for a different vehicle. There was no communication or approval before the finance was submitted. Accountability is being completely deflected. Intentions aside, this was a serious violation of trust, transparency, and data protection. I strongly caution others about doing business with KIA Diep Rivier. If this happened to me, it could happen to someone else.

DO NOT PURCHASE A VEHICLE FROM KIA DIEP RIVER!

STAY FAR AWAY FROM KIA DIEP RIVER! I am writing to express my profound dissatisfaction with the service I received from the Kia Diep River dealership during the purchase of my new Kia Seltos. My experience has been nothing short of a nightmare, and I feel compelled to share the details to prevent other customers from enduring similar issues. From the outset, the lack of internal communication between the sales team and the finance department was glaring. There was no cohesive support from Kia throughout the purchasing process. I was left to educate myself about vehicle contracts by searching online, as the dealership provided little to no guidance. The dealership attempted to charge me the highest possible monthly installment without explaining why I was being asked to pay such a premium. They did not present me with various financing options from all the different banks, effectively pressuring me into accepting their initial offer unless I insisted otherwise, which I did. As frustrating as the onboarding experience was, the problems did not end there. We traded in our Picanto as part of the deal for the new vehicle, yet Nedbank debited us again for the Picanto due to the dealerships paperwork not being in order. This mistake has caused significant inconvenience to my wife and myself. Although the dealership has promised to refund us, they cannot provide a timeline for when we will receive our money back. This issue arose because the Picanto was not settled, despite assurances that everything was in order. Additionally, I have yet to receive the new registration for the Kia Seltos and they debited us for a vehicle that was already traded in. The lack of communication and resolution has been deeply disappointing and stressful, they haven't even settled the car yet. To prevent others from facing such an ordeal, I am formally reporting my experience to Kia Head Office and MIOSA as well. I hope this complaint prompts a thorough review of the dealership's practices and ensures that future customers receive the service and transparency they deserve. Sincerely, Sergio Dominick

Kia DIEP RIVER ARE KROOKS

The staff at kia diep river is a bunch of very dishonest people , from the dealer principle David Snyman right down to their staff. Mikaela was a bad sales person from the start , she has no customer service skills and she does not have the ability to take ownership of a problem and will never follow up on you unless it amounts to a sale. Leighton will try and sell you a vehicle before they even take you for a test drive or show you the vehicle that you are applying finance for. Eventually when it came time to collect my new vehclicle it was presented to me with bird **** stains all over it ( which they offered to clean ) . When I Eventually picked up the vehicle the next day it was discovered based on the break disks , pads and tires that the car was actually not BRAND NEW but had been driven before ( probably by their staff) . STAY AWAY FROM KIA DIEP RIVER as they are brutal sales people who don't cars about customers but only care about the sale you could give them . VERY DISAPPOINTED in their dishonesty. NEVER AGAIN

Horrible experience KIA Diep River

I took in my car for service for its first with me being the owner of the vehicle as it was previously a pre -owned demo, I was then told that the servicing company (Liquid Capital) would not accept it due to it being overdue for said service. It was due in March, this then lead to my contract being terminated and I had to request goodwill. The car requiring servicing in March was never communicated to me upon purchase, even Kia themselves serviced it in June -meaning even they were overdue when they were still owners. After a long back and forth between myself, KIA Diep River and LiquidCapital the issue was resolved and car went in for service. All of which was sponsored using my cellphone and airtime. I took the car straight home and didn't travel anywhere until the next day when I was going to work, the car refused to start. Something it had never done before, when I went to KIA I asked for a report that detailed what was the issue and what was done to rectify it . I was then condescended to in the report , and told the fault was not pressing the clutch upon starting of the car Dear reader, I have had this car for going close to a year now, why would I not know that is what is required upon start up. All in all a bad experience, and I do not advise anyone to buy a car with them. I am still in pursuit of what exactly caused my car not to start , as should this be a recurring problem it will all fall on me.

PATHETIC SERVICE

The service provided at this branch is pathetic. I have been with them for nearly 2 years now. The salesperson I dealt is no longer with the company,so it's been a struggle to get help from them with my enquiries. I called them last year November to do a follow up on my service plan to this day i had no one call me back ,even after I called again a couple of times,each time they would just apologize and do the same thing. I Eventually got spoke to the lady at reception last week 25 January and she assured me that all is well I can bring my car for a service on 31 January. I went to drop off my car for the service. AFTER I already left they call me to ask me how am I going to be paying this service. PATHETIC!!! Had I been told to pat cash I would have made the appointment for when I was able to pay cash, also this is the very reason I have been trying too call them to make sure I was covered. I asked to speak to the Manager and Ryno has been the busiest person ,so Again no call back from them or the manager, excuses upon excuses. The courteous car wash they provided left me without one of my car mats,which they didn't even bother to notify me about. I would not ever deal with Kia again after I trade in.

Kia Diep River bad service

My issue with KIA Diep River has been unresolved since November 2023. 20 November 2023 my vehicle was supposed to go for a service. I booked the service and took my vehicle in on the day however due to an employee of KIA (not sure which branch) who in error put details of another KIA owner (Vin number) on my profile Liquid Capital would not allow the service to be done. KIA Diep River eventually got Liquid Capital to fix the vin number mix-up by 8 December when I received an email from Mahendran Reddy (Service advisor) at KIA Diep River. In this email he also stated that they now are waiting for service authorisation from Liquid Capital. I have been told that he no longer works in that department. I have sent him 2 emails as well asking for an update and those remained unanswered as well. Ever since then I have been phoning them on a regular basis to get an answer. I just get told that the person who can assist in unavailable. I need my vehicle serviced and I told them that I better not lose my maintenance plan.
