I am lodging a formal complaint regarding a defective Kenwood Chef XL mixer purchased in December 2023 via Takealot. This appliance has now been returned twice for repairs: April 2025 – Ref: MRRN-Z804E-VJBQ June 2025 – Ref: MRRN-VBWWM-YXX9 Despite these repair attempts: No diagnostic or repair reports were ever provided, despite multiple requests The machine only functioned temporarily after each return The exact same fault has recurred yet again Most recently, the mixer stopped mid-use and is now completely unusable. This is unacceptable for a product of this nature and price. This matter clearly constitutes a latent defect, as the underlying fault persists despite repeated repair attempts, confirming that the product was not of acceptable quality at the time of supply. Furthermore, this is a direct violation of the Consumer Protection Act (CPA), which guarantees consumers the right to goods that are durable, of good quality, and free of defects. The failure to provide repair reports also reflects a serious lack of transparency and accountability. I have now issued a formal Letter of Demand to both Takealot and Kenwood, requiring: Full written diagnostic and repair reports for both repair instances A final resolution in the form of a full refund or replacement To date, I have received nothing more than an automated acknowledgement from Takealot — no report, no feedback, and no resolution. Should this matter not be resolved within the stipulated timeframe, I will proceed with escalation to the National Consumer Commission, and pursue further legal remedies available to me without further notice. This level of service and product failure is completely unacceptable. All supporting documentation, including return references and correspondence, is available on request.

I bought a Kenwood coffee machine Sept 2026 and will never buy another Kenwood again. My choice in this price range was big but I decided on Kenwood because of my previous experience with this brand. Big mistake, the machine was delivered and as a coffee ***** I couldn't wait for the first brew to be finished. Big disappointment the coffee smelled and tasted like plastic. I thought it would eventually disappear but no such luck I tried vinegar instead of water but no change. I decided to try and find out from Kenwood if they have a remedy but nothing not a single word, they ignored my e-mails completely, didn't even send a received note nothing. Item was sold, they have their money, so stuff the customer. I used to love my coffee but after this **** machine I'm now a tea drinker. Kenwood must be the worst small appliance manufacturer and should be avoided. Plastic has and never will be acceptable.

I bought a Kenwooed oven airfryer less than 2 years ago. Its still in good mechanical working order, but the whole interior has rusted, even though its supposed to be a stainless steel airfryer. No rust outside, but the whole interior has rusted. I cannot use it anymore as its become a health hazard. Kenwood used to be one of the top brands. I will never buy a Kenwood product again.

I purchased the Kenwood 25L Stainless Steel MOA26.600SS Air Fryer advertised on their website at a sale price of R2,650 (down from R3,560). After completing my order, I was informed that the item was “out of stock” and that their system had not updated their inventory in time. I was offered a refund (which was processed promptly) and advised to try other retailers like Makro, Game, or Hirsch, where it was fully priced. However, just a few days later, the same product reappeared on their website – still on “sale” – but now priced at R3,150, marked down from the same R3,560. This raises a serious question: was the product truly out of stock, or was the lower price simply withdrawn to adjust their promotion? Either way, it leaves a poor impression of transparency and customer trust.

I purchased the Kenwood Airfryer oven from Takealot. It started rusting even it is in great working order. I returned it a month ago and apparently Kenwood carries the warranty. Now Kenwood won’t honour the warranty as the appliance is operational and they revoked the rest if my 2 year warranty because of the bad rusted condition it is in!!! I want to talk to them myself but Takealot says they will contact me. After three requests I’m still waiting. What happened to Kenwood’s reputation and service excellence? I will never buy from them again!!

Bought an airfryer from bash two years ago I only used it a hand full of times and now it's broken. The warranty is done it's not an electrical problem apparently it's a component. So now I'm stuck after spending almost R4000 on this Kenwood airfryer oven so now what? This is so frustrating and why can't it be fixed? Kenwood used to be the go to brand now it's a load of ****. I would not advise anyone to buy a Kenwood product. It sucks and does not last.

I bought a Kenwood air fryer from Game as a Christmas gift. When the box was opened the recipe book was not in the box as noted. I immediately contacted Game who weren't interested in helping. They simply referred me to Kenwood stating this needs to be addressed with Kenwood? How is this correct? The item was bought from Game? Surely Game should take this up with the manufacturer? Game supp**** contact numbers which don't work during a period when Kenwood was closed? Kenwood website was visited and there is nowhere to send an email or ask a question. I eventually used the only contacts options available (which are for servicing and orders) to ask where I an direct my enquiry or who can assist me. To date Kenwood hasn't bothered to respond. Game have also not rep**** to my request for them to assist? Such a small and simple thing causes frustrated clients to shop elsewhere and for other more accountable brands.
