AI Review Summary

Based on recent customer reviews, i-Switch Prepaid Metering (Pty) Ltd receives strong praise for individual staff members, particularly Nathanie Chellan, Lee-Shane Titus, Lee-Ann, and Harold, who are consistently highlighted for prompt, professional, and after-hours assistance. However, a significant portion of negative feedback centres on billing errors, unexplained high charges, lump-sum deductions from meter reading failures, and prolonged electricity disconnections while disputes remain unresolved. Customers also express frustration with the app's reliability, lack of transparency in consumption data, and the perceived high cost of fixed daily charges.

Starting off the switch from our normal pre-paid meters to i-Switch meters seemed like a nightmare

Starting off the switch from our normal pre-paid meters to i-Switch meters seemed like a nightmare. With alot of admin and transferring existing balance to the new units. But Yaseen Hendricks is an absolute champion, assisting with all my queries and sorting out all the problems we had. Yaseen made the transfer a stress free experience and I greatly appreciate all his help.

Worst provider no solutions

Worst prepaid provider. I loaded units but still have no power. You have to ask a neighbour to boost you every time you run out of electricity and if you travel for work you are in worse trouble and if you are sickly there is no bypass.

Excellent service from I-Switch Team

We had a great experience with i-Switch Prepaid Metering (Pty) Ltd during our changeover from a previous vendor for our complex. The process was smooth, well managed, and communication was clear throughout. The team was professional and efficient, with minimal disruption to residents. Their fees are also very affordable compared to our previous vendor, which was a big plus. We are very satisfied with their service and would gladly recommend i-Switch.

****ty Company NEVER to be used.

I so wish there was a minus rating because that's what i-Switch Prepared Metering deserves. I have been buying electricity units and everything has been fine. From time to time I would run out of units and they would switch off the electricity, which is understandable but the balance has never reached more that minus R100 if I'm not mistaken. However, today my electricity went off and when I checked my balance, its on minus R952 which is something that has never happened. i-Switch's explanation is that the meter has not been billing since beginning of October 2025 and that this error caused the balance reading to be inaccurate, showing a positive balance even when the balance was negative. My problem is that I have been fulfilling my responsibility of buying electricity, and i-Switch on their side failed to fix their error since October and I was never notified of this error, I kept on buying and using electricity without the knowledge of any errors which i-Switch is now claiming on the 7th of January, three months after they discovered the claimed billing errors. i-Switch is making their failure and incompetence my problem whereby I have to now pay R952 before they switch on my electricity, the R952 which i knew nothing about while on their side they had knowledge of this for three months and did nothing about it. Tell me how this is fair to a customer that has been buying electricity.
