I am extremely disappointed with the workmanship and quality of service received from HJM Offroad in Cape Town. HJM Offroad fitted equipment to my vehicle, and the standard of work delivered was, in my opinion, completely unacceptable. The quality of the installation was extremely poor and far below what any customer should reasonably expect from a professional off-road fitment company. The workmanship was careless, untidy, and clearly lacked the level of attention to detail required when working on a customer’s vehicle. Based on my experience, the final result was not only disappointing but also raised serious concerns about the quality control and pride taken in their work. When a customer pays for professional fitment, they expect the job to be done properly, safely, and to an acceptable standard. Unfortunately, my experience with HJM Offroad was the complete opposite. I am posting this review so that other customers are aware of my experience before trusting HJM Offroad with their vehicles. I would strongly advise anyone considering using them to carefully inspect previous work, ask detailed questions, and think twice before proceeding. In my view, the workmanship I received was beyond unacceptable, and I would not recommend HJM Offroad based on my experience. This has been one of the most disappointing experiences I have had with any vehicle fitment company, and I believe other potential customers deserve to be warned.

I had a really bad experience with this company, I spent close to R800k with them to install 4x4 accessories on my LC200, only for them to stuff me around for nearly 1 year, These guys don’t know what they are doing, the owner Hans has a very *** attitude as well, barely answers his phone, and sends updates when he feels like it!!! When I first walked into their workshop I saw that they didn’t have a hydraulic lift, you would think having a lift would be standard for a 4x4 fitment centre, yet I still gave them a chance…Biggest mistake ever…you would also think that by spending so much money with a company they would treat you with respect and try to prioritise your project, not the case with these guys,….They run their business like a backdoor panel beater and treat their clients like ****!!!When I finally got the car back, I drove it for 1 hour and the suspension dropped on the right hand side, the car got what’s called a KDSS lean, because these idiots didn’t know how to reset the KDSS…no technical knowledge whatsoever, they would rather send it to Toyota. So I tried calling them after the incident and they never answered my calls, the car sat the whole of the Christmas holidays, with all my family plans ruined…to top it off, it rained the whole weekend, when I opened the drivers door the following Monday the car was full of water, it was leaking water everywhere. So I had to wait for them to reopen in January and take it back. I’m writing this review 20th February 2026 and the car is still with them, they’re still playing around and are refusing to refund the money that I still have with them which was for outstanding accessories which they have not yet installed. This proved costly for me, I lost a lot of time, and they nearly destroyed my business, as this build was a company car for my mining company… Because of their *** attitude and lack of technical expertise they lost business from me, I have 5 bullet proof Landcruiser’s that I have now sent to NOVOGEN to do the upgrades and accessories.HJM offroad lost R5million because of their terrible service and attitude. Whatever you do, don’t take your car to these guys, you will regret it! Take it to a company like NOVOGEN, a company that knows what they are doing, a company that respects their clients, and builds your off-road project the way you want it!

I have used HJM Off Road 4x4 in Cape Town a few times and spent in excess of R160 000.00 on items fitted on my Toyota HiLux D4D D/C 4x4. The last fitment was for a dual battery system and a ARB Compressor. Every time I had something fitted I had to pay 100% up-front, prior to installation. On the last installation, worth R50 000.00 I paid the full amount on the 26 September 2025. Fitment was only done on 14 November 2025. To make things worse, the dual battery system with inverter which included a solar panel, should have had an extension cord included as advertised on the website. There was no extension cord included and I had to pay extra for an extension cord. On collecting the vehicle it was found that the driver side window now does not want to close. I now had to book the vehicle in at Toyota to have this corrected / repaired. On a previous occasion, the vehicle was returned with a turn signal not working and then after that with loose wires to the spot lights that were fitted. I will not recommend using HJM Off Road 4x4 for installations as I am not sure that they are really equipment or have the knowledge to do reliable work, and to also having to pay extra for something that should have been included and was omitted as a result of their poor procurement system is also not acceptable.
